Are you suggesting no Hollywood actor has any privacy?

Some court the media and some do not. I don’t think in absolute sense just because some actors make poor choices with regards to privacy that forms a proof or legal precedent for very industry or every person.

I didn’t claim that though Fionn. I just pointed out Paul’s statement wasn’t true unless you ignored wider reality or narrowed your view until you lost all perspective.

We can always rely on you to play the man Gray Hand.

I agree with this bit;

“bringing an end to what has been the worst-managed saga in Australian sporting history”

But to be fair to RA, they are not the only ones who don’t like looking in mirrors.

We’re multi tasking 😂

Perspective is a valid argument at one level. Hence the expression ‘to strain the gnat but swallow the camel.’

Imagine if space monkeys had come with red lasers shooting out of their eyes.

That would have been fun for a while.

One must make the choice to try and stay rational and play the arguments and not the person. I am sure, I for one, have made mistakes in that regard. It’s not easy for sure.

I have to say, The Roar is certainly better than Facebook, in my experience.

With all due respect Mr Jack, if you read the bible as a set of rules then you haven’t understood it at all. I might suggest that the fact your understanding stopped at ‘bizarre’ confirms your level of understanding and might be what Glenn referred to.

Furthermore, the quote Folau used named many activities that were called sinful but only one upset ‘enlightened society’. Sexuality. Because that’s the obsession ‘enlightened society’ has.

Lastly, it is scientists (geneticists) who state there is no ‘gay’ gene, leaving those claiming to be ‘who they are’ in the same philosophical group as those who like to eat ice cream, or ride horses. Not to suggest it is not your right to decide to eat ice cream, ride horses or sleep with whomever you choose.

“Doesn’t say everybody is a sinner.”

You only have an argument if you purposely exclude the context of the rest of the book.

But then one can “prove” many things if one takes singular quotes, always at face value, and removes all context.

But I have a feeling you have little interest in what they book actually says.

Although it is clearly much harder to create separation, I don’t really buy the argument that the price of being paid more than others is the removal of your private life.

The material difference, as you noted, is that he was not commenting on the company business, or even the wider industry. Wasn’t the first post about same sex marriage and made during a public referendum on that subject?

And I am squarely opposed to the Banjo v Comcare result because it it is hard to see how Federal Government cannot use the case to muzzle any whistle blower in future.

It is just as likely that he was sitting at home in his undies when he wrote those posts.

“no employer (and their sponsor) should be aable to silence a employee outside of the workplace”

As an employer, in general I agree with you.

It’s ridiculous because you are asking a sporting body to become your morality police at their own cost.

It’s ridiculous because the implication self harmed was caused by Folau has zero basis in fact.

It’s ridiculous in that your use of the inclusivity principle is enforced through exclusion (a contradiction in terms).

If you want to include true diversity you must end up with differences. Anything less is just tokenism.

In my very limited experience great lawyers are also great pragmatists.

Perhaps other sporting codes won’t be as stupid as RA were in their handling of the situation.

That’s ridiculous, they are a sporting body.

It might have been covered by insurance.

Athough their renewal is about to go through the roof. But not $8M through the roof.

Ha ha, and what a coincidence.

It is the Word.

But context matters, metaphorical truth is a real thing and cherry picking is worse from non believers whose extent of skill with the Word is sometimes google.

Not that there is anything wrong with that .. 😂

I choose to put hyperbole aside and think that the pragmatism of lawyers finally found the light of day.
