Rumours of the NRL's death are greatly exaggerated

“There are other instances of union dignitaries stifling league’s growth in places as wide-ranging as Japan, Serbia, South Africa and Italy. Examples exist in the United Kingdom too. Cambridge student Ady Spencer was banned by the RFU from playing in the Varsity Rugby Union match having enjoyed the rigours of league as a youngster in his native Warrington. The incident was subject to a parliamentary motion in 1995 being condemned as an “injustice and interference with human rights””.

The time is right for Rugby League World Cup expansion

Rob my good sir.
Im so glad for your rebuttal on this fine day.

Firstly.
Self proclaimed facts and misinformation you say.
As much as you want to you just can’t rewrite history just to suit your own narrative my good chap and since your unwilling to except the rantings of this neanderthal let me share with you this finely written article on these fake points that I can’t stop harping on about, then we can talk more about these pipe smokers you mentioned.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/active/11840935/Why-rugby-league-is-obviously-better-than-rugby-union.html

Finally it sounds like we can agree on something when it comes to these tweed wearing, pipe smokers you mention.
I personally wouldn’t say holding a gun but more so with fines, threats, sanctions and imprisonment, or holding a gun…..so i guess your rite about something after all.

Have a nice day.

Toronto Wolfpack bring a new era to rugby league

Why do you have a beef with me posting factual comments (neg as they may be) on a RL post about one of our main competitors?
The entertainment value statement is based upon all the other aspects of union (ie more rules, more convoluted, slower, ect, ect) compared to league, which are factual, not opinions, so why you choose to bring that part of my comment up is odd?
Same go’s for my original quote from Perez which is again fact.
And lets not forget the oppression aspect (once again fact) to round it all off.
Raise some facts and the keyboard warriors lose their minds!

To end on a ironic note. Isn’t it wonderful that an ex union player and his main financial backer (union tragic) chose to start a RL franchise.
Look it up, its true, its all true.
Says it all really.

Thanks for your comment mike t.

Rubbish?? Nice.
Sounds like you haven’t done your homework on the history of league in Canada and other parts of the world.

In regards to your question about the oppression of league ill try to clear things up for you the best i can. However if you hav a preference for union (why are you here?) over league then im probably wasting my time.

Firstly i didn’t write this as a one mans opinion piece, but to present the facts and let the people decide or investigate for themselves.
I simply wanted to shine a light and inform people on the oppression of league in dif parts of the world ( i.e. Canada).

Secondly you mean to tell me that a product that has more rule , more stoppages, more games won by never scoring a try, more players on the field, more convoluted, slower, less entertaining, less athletic.
You mean to tell me after all this that rugby has solely won the heart and minds of people over the world based upon on whats described above?
Or has it more to do with union admins keepin the loafers firmly pressed on leagues throat in different parts of the world? Thankfully for us that time has passed.

I have no beef with anyone who wants to talk about facts and truths, but you my friend are either miss informed or deliberately trying to sidestep the truth, which on a RL post is not acceptable.

Have a nice day.

Toronto Wolfpack bring a new era to rugby league

“We don’t have the historical prejudices and snobbery over here that has hindered the game in other parts of the world.”

The oppression of league by their union overlords is the main factor that has helped union dwarf league in popularity over the world. Hell even Perez was told by his coach when he played union was “we don’t talk about league”
Lets present both products without any hindrances then let the people decide.

Well done Perez and well done the wolfpack for breaking down these prejudices.
