The Storm - the most professional team I've come across in the last 50 years,

Get rid of the bunker. One ref makes the decision. In try scoring moments either side has one challenge per half and if they get it wrong, after the ref has looked at the big screen, they lose one interchange.

Rules that cruel the NRL: Inconsistency and psychic silliness holding back the game

The best enjoyment watching test cricket is to see the poms whingeing.

'Take away umpire's call': Stokes bleats about DRS after India thrash appalling England by record margin

Where are all the pundits/experts who claimed Luai wasn’t up to much and wasn’t worth the money that was being spruiked about him? Was dad Cleary ever really concerned about him leaving? The pennies have always been confident in their junior nursery across the park to the extent they didn’t bat and eyelid about letting two of their GF reserves walk away recently. They may not get the 4-peat but they’ll make their presence felt for many years to come.

Cole Comfort: Why replacing Luai is the biggest challenge yet for the Panthers' succession planning

The future starts today. A new identity would help. Tigers is a non-entity. A new name will help – maybe “The Big Cats” – and a bold mission statement of fearless, ruthless, blood and guts, take no prisoners attack. Richo will be working his brain and imagination overtime to come up with something that the players and fans can aspire to.

Welcome aboard, Richo and Barry - here's the big questions facing the new regime at the Wests Tigers

Albo will be spruiking a referendum next, not that he’d win this one either

Using the NRL as a political football for your Pacific solution is a dumb idea, Albo - and a waste of taxpayers' money

Yes. They can’t help themselves. They’re good enough to win fair and square but they have to cheat. It’s in their DNA. It’s really a badge of honour for them to win by cheating, whether it’s the pitch, the officials or fudging the toss. They’ll probably win on Sunday. Let’s hope that what goes around, comes around,

I thought Gee had a great game – letting the game flow without the nit picking of Sutton or Klein who was in the bunker, so that was the obvious instruction from on high. Swings and roundabouts – it all evens out and neither team was advantaged or dis-advantaged. No doubt the whingers will have their whinge, but Adam Gee has given us the blueprint on how NRL should be reffed. Would like to see more of it in 2024.

Cleary's immortal display inspires Panthers to pull off record comeback win for three-peat and break Broncos hearts

For heaven’s sake. Does Freddie want to set NSW back to the dark ages? The NRL should cancel both their licences to ever speak rugby league, ever again. Take your medicine Freddie and ride off into the sunset.

Spot on TB. If Klein and Sutton are in the bunker, 90% of good passes will be pulled up. The Vegas crowd will walk out at this and the stupid no try rulings when the ref has no idea whether the ball is grounded. Maybe they’ll bring in a rule that a touchdown (try) is scored if the player reaches the in goal.

Why are Souths being penalized? The Raiders should have copped a penalty – maybe play with 12 men for 10 minutes at the end of a game.

Wighton should have been hit for six over Knight bite - and given an extra match for arrogant sledge at heated hearing

Fair dinkum! “FOREARM in his mouth?” So his “FOREARM” is adjacent to his wrist, is it? A forearm is at least 30 cm long. A mouth is only 6 or 7 cm. The fantasies some people come up with to try to make their point. Time for you to book into the funny farm.

ANALYSIS: Gamble blows up over Wighton biting allegation as Ponga propels Knights past Raiders in extra-time thriller

I hope Adam O’Brien took note. It would be madness to let Ponga play with a busted AC joint at this stage of the finals. Trust the team to get the job done against Canberra, notwithstanding it’s sudden death, and give Ponga more time to mend for future finals matches. Lachie Miller is a more than a capable replacement, and it would be motivational for the team to “fire up” for Kalyn in this one. Canberra could summon up some grit, but with Papalii, Horsberg and Kris not playing, I’d be taking a punt on the team who have won 9 straight. Imagine Tapine or Wighton putting a bell ringer on Kalyn in the first 5 minutes and seeing him carried off??
All the best for Papps. Speedy recovery.

'We go again': Papenhuyzen responds after horrific injury as star goes under knife on fractured ankle

I think the score line flattered the Storm. They were dreadful. 4 times they gifted the broncs field position on the first set coming out of their own end, and still the broncs struggled to score. Add to that the storm missed around 50 tackles, including 10 to Harry Grant, and dropped the ball on countless occasions. Not sure if the rain was the reason, but Penrith would have put 50 on the storm on that effort.

ANALYSIS: Broncos surge into prelim after heartbreaking Papi injury - but were the Panthers the big winners?

I think you’ll find that Burgess resigned voluntarily. He was not sacked. His leaving is a statement that the Rabbitohs are a rabble and he wants to distance himself when the coup de grace is delivered in round 27

Except for his dropped balls, wayward passes and missed tackles. I thought he helped Penrith win the game, so, yeah, “played really well”.

ANALYSIS: Madcap Manly embrace the chaos to give Panthers a scare - before Crichton leads them to victory

Great article TB. I can’t understand why it’s the season for Luai bashing and it’s been going on forever. Are these journos just jealous that an Islander kid from St Marys is earning 10 times more than them? I know one thing. Every article just fans the flames higher.

If we’re serious about bringing this 2 year mad dispute, that no-one understands, to an end, get rid of Albo and Newton and bring in Belinda Sharpe and Yvonne Sampson. All parties pledge to abide by their decision. Dispute over in 10 minutes.

Think back to day 1 of the series and England’s arrogant declaration. Had they batted on and got a decent lead they may have won or drawn the first test, and then rain at Old Trafford would not have mattered. Pure arrogance. Then at Lords, the way all and sundry carried on with the Bairstow (fair) dismissal, they could have been a little bit humble and admit they got it wrong. But No. They chose the moral high ground. Pure arrogance. What goes around, comes around. Another Ashes series win Australia.
