Out of the 6 players you named, Edwards & Maric are actually in the selected team. Out of the remaining 4, only 2 (Allen & Sheed) are actually in the Eagles best 22. Contrast that with the Tiger’s missing Prestia, Lynch, Balta, Grimes, Hopper, Gibcus.
You’re right about the Eagles being “depleted” in one respect because they are just plain hopeless but the author is correct in describing the Tiger’s as “depleted” because they have 6 genuine 1st choice players missing compared to the Eagles 2.

Why is it a story that the Cats would take the time to consider bringing in Thomas? I would have thought every club would be taking a look at a very talented player albeit with some very concerning personal character issues. I would actually think the Tiger’s, with their very strong indigenous culture within the club, would be a great new home for Thomas and an ideal fresh start to reinvent himself.

Tom Brown is another big find. Son of former Cat Paul Brown and swiped from right under Geelongs noses he’s a real talent and will be an integral part of the Tiger’s defence for many years.

Oh I don’t object at all to punishing deliberate acts by players, I’m just sick of the AFL punishing players for accidental collisions that occur when just competing in good faith for the same football. Football is still a contact sport isn’t it??? Big hits are still allowed in NRL arent they. The AFL is a joke and so are those who support its efforts to sanitise the game that will soon make it as boring as netball.
