I don’t know, because you brought the shopping centre into it first?

Freo has no problem with Kardinya Park.

Oh…… I get it now. You meant Kardinia Park — the Cats’ home ground.

Sorry, my mistake. It didn’t occur to me that a former English teacher who taught year 1 kids would spell it wrong, that’s all. No wonder our education system is so messed up.

Forgive me.

'Dripping in inequality and stupidity': Footy is back... and so is AFL interference

No, I think you did, but hey…. this can be debated ad naseum.

You’ve repeatedly over the years harped on how it’s become tiresome my comments regarding such inequality, which you subconsciously did again with your ‘ad naseum’ reference above.

Well, tough titty.

'Dripping in inequality and stupidity': Footy is back... and so is AFL interference

Yes there is. It’s a shopping mall.

I agree with you. Your boys have no issue with Kardinya Park. They can be real handbaggers at times.

'Dripping in inequality and stupidity': Footy is back... and so is AFL interference

Excellent. Now repeat it 50 times after me:

“There’s a Kardinya in Perth.“

'Dripping in inequality and stupidity': Footy is back... and so is AFL interference

I know you couldn’t give 2 hoots. You’re a Richmond fan.

'Dripping in inequality and stupidity': Footy is back... and so is AFL interference

I’m not pretending. It really is in Perth.

'Dripping in inequality and stupidity': Footy is back... and so is AFL interference

Because they don’t outweigh the advantages.

The AFL is an all or nothing competition. No one cares about who comes second. No one.

So when your beloved Richmond plays a vast majority of its finals at their home ground, they gain the most significant advantage of the lot, on the biggest day of the year… should they make it.

If you want to argue (like all melburnians do) that Melbourne teams, conversely, don’t have as many true home games as a disadvantage, well… that also means they don’t have as many true away games either. Are you happy now, or worse for me pointing out the obvious?

For Richmond, that’s a huge advantage because their army can quite easily fill the ‘G when say Melbourne play there. All of a sudden an away game becomes more of a home game to them, etc, etc, etc…..

'Dripping in inequality and stupidity': Footy is back... and so is AFL interference

I apologise for having a bad memory.

'Dripping in inequality and stupidity': Footy is back... and so is AFL interference

I’m not surprised. Kardinya Park is in Perth.

'Dripping in inequality and stupidity': Footy is back... and so is AFL interference

I’ve never heard Cam whine about the home-ground advantage afforded to the likes of Richmond come finals, though, or about their lack of travel outside Victoria.

I have, however, heard him rant about how the finals should always be played at the MCG because of tradition and/or how it’s all about the fans… the more the merrier at the ‘G.

Well, that’s great… for the VFL dinosaurs who still think the game is only about them, along with their 100,000+ strong members, who only get stronger because of such ideals.

'Dripping in inequality and stupidity': Footy is back... and so is AFL interference

Don’t bother trying to explain the reason. He’ll just argue some other weird reason to the contrary.

Shut the argument down with fact:

A Richmond fan complaining of inequality.
Gold!

He should have been suspended 1 week for the kick.
When you put the situation into context, I’m glad he got off. Correct decision.

Free Sicily: Hawks skipper cleared of kicking ban by Tribunal

Dark green with white trim would have been nice and elegant.

I suspect this will be like Freo’s jumper — a dog’s breakfast before a restyle to amend this abomination of a guernsey.

Freo now has one of the best kit in the league. Not as good as Carlton’s, but it’s not bad.

Devils ready to raise hell: AFL's newest club goes back to the future with traditional jumper as stadium furore rages on

Well, at least the Hawks will be happy they no longer have the worst looking guernsey in the league.

I’d like to hear Birdman’s view on this. He’s always impartial on incidents involving Sicily…

Any team can play reckless attacking footy. I find this analysis somewhat strange.

All I see is a team style that will likely getter pumped a lot this season by very large scores against the more aggressive teams.

Now, if this reckless style can cut through some of the more defensive teams, then I’ll give this analysis some credit, otherwise it’s pointless. In other words, you score 3 and I’ll score 6 is the only thing you can draw from this game, especially against GWS.

Footy Fix: They're still a work in progress - but 'Northball' will make electric Roos the AFL's most exciting team

They do. I didn’t think the AFL listened to anyone. If they did, why does Whateley do his incessant whining every week about something the AFL is doing wrong?

Which is why it wasn’t lucky.

Gerard Whateley?

If so, no one cares what he thinks. He’s like David King…the ultimate footy analyst with the benefit of hindsight.

I saw the game very differently.

Blues controlled the game well, but lacked that last touch polish. Yep, Tigers were gutsy but that’s about it. They’ll get pulverised quite a bit this year I suspect. They’re bog average.

Blues won in a different manner last night with a lot of run and gun. I’d like to see them switch play more, but it’s early. They’ll evolve as the year progresses and structurally look very sound.

It would not surprise me at all if they got flogged this weekend by their mortal enemy.

Where I live, although technically North Shore, is more inner west. Giants games are far easier to get to.

You could be right about an all Sydney GF. Saying that, I’m starting to sound like one of those April Premier commentators.

It’s a loooong season.

Footy Fix: Adam Kingsley gave Craig McRae an absolute coaching bath - and this utterly bonkers stat proves it

I’ve just signed up the family. Giants are our local club….kind of. Not sure which of the two clubs is more local to a North Shore resident?…

Saying that, I hate crossing over that damn bridge, so the Giants it is.

My daughter is now old enough and LOVES Toby! Perhaps it’s the bad boy image, who knows.

My son is still a little young, but he’ll grow up a Giants fan, too. They watch a lot of the Cats with me, but I’ve decided they should grow up supporting their local club. The Giants need supporters more than the Swans, so they now have 4 new members.

Plus…the Giants have the best club song in the League. It’s soo good! The little things like that will add up over time. I can feel AFL footy starting to turn out west. It’s great.

The Cats too don’t have a long history out of the eight.

There are some good teams, though. It will be a tough top 8 to predict.
