Silly and disappointing from RFU. I do believe that there was misinterpretation – which may now be proved by closure of the investigation? I also think that Curry did not make the allegation in good faith – why? Because he knows better, he was pushing to disadvantage SA. Also, to think he plays club rugby with about 5 or 6 saffas he would be very familiar with the Afrikaans language….

How about acknowledging what both players may have been going through this week? Not just the one who raised the allegation but also the one who may have been falsely accused? How about the disruption caused to the SA camp days before a WC final?

Don’t let rugby go down this path

England react with fury as Bok cleared by World Rugby after TWO racism allegations made by Tom Curry

Mate, sorry, cant find much logic in this statement. What are you saying, that Rugby becomes less physical, that quotas be introduced to level the playing field? That all teams weigh the same and limit their physicality? What’s next, safe spaces and participation badges?
Teams play to their strengths and preferred styles. It’s about athleticism, talent, strategy, cohesion, for all sizes and it’s a beautiful game.
The kids and the game will be just fine. 😊

COMPLETE RWC teams week 3: Eddie makes three changes, Wales skipper misses out, Farrell back for England

Can’t say that this isn’t distressing. As mentioned by others, there is a concern over Libbok’s play and calm when things become highly attritional and forwards on the back foot..even worse when we need the 3 pointer to win the game (think Wales SF 2019) . That’s where Pollard has shown his worth, plenty a times. Similarly with Am, missing his defensive nous could be very problematic with our rush defence when facing teams like NZ et al. Hope’s aren’t dashed but my confidence slightly dented.

In Jacques and Rassie I do trust and here is hoping that there is some wool being pulled over on selections and planning 🙂 This will be a damn fine WC.

'Not ideal': Springboks name injured skipper for RWC but backline stars miss out as coach names FOUR halfbacks

Well done to the AB’s. Owned the breakdown and collisions and side stepped the rush defence perfectly. Kudos to them – a perfect statement heading into the WC.

Boks not having a kicker is problematic, and you can see the reluctance to go for the 3. Which counts a heck of a lot in games like these. Some rust from first choice players and some players would be very very disappointed with their performance (DDA, AM and Mapimpi to mention a few). Let’s hope we get the fine tuning right and our general 10 back in time for WC.

'Absolute beast mode': All Blacks bash Boks with Frizell and Jordan on fire in stirring win

Boks humbled for sure and lost the game within the first 20 minutes. Definitely some rust and disappointingly so. DDA and AM very poor, Mapimpi would be lucky to retain a spot with KLA hot on the heels. Forwards struggled to counter the ruck speed…We are known as slow starters, but you can’t let any team, let alone the AB’s put 20 on you within the first quarter. AB’s owned the breakdown and collisions and side stepped the rush defence perfectly. Kudos to them.

Notwithstanding, still very optimistic for the Bok squad…if we get our 10 and kicker and some fine tuning on form, she will be a’right.

ANALYSIS: Boks own the pack, ABs reign out back - why this battle between old foes is too tough to call

Great read! It’s a different environment for sure, I remember enjoying the early braais and lawaais at Loftus in my school days. Soms a rowwe plek…as experienced by Aus.
Great early showing of depth and style from Boks. Although, I won’t read too much into this result, and expect this weekend’s game against NZ to be the litmus test. Australia were poor, new coaching setup, new players into the fold (baptism of fire for some), strange change of strategy and lets not dig deeper into root cause… grassroots. Problems for them, and hope there is a real plan out, soon.
For the Boks, I still consider Manie a bit shaky. Also concerns over 10,12 and 13 should there be 1 or more injuries. Otherwise, very happy with depth in other positions, definitely a squad that can compete for Bill.

Fresh meat: Loftus Versfeld smells like an abattoir. Tom Hooper and co were skewered and thrown on the braai

Definitely a bright light and now excited to see if JN tinkers a little bit more with the arg games.

I would start E Louw and bring Roos off the bench together with PSDT, covering lock and flank and big engine rooms to close out. For the backs, would love to see Moodie get some more game time against Arg but same can be said of Arendse, I think he had a great game against NZ (but for the red). I don’t like the injuries, but we could say it’s been a blessing with WC around the corner, new gems uncovered just in time.

REACTION: Boks turn salty tears into raging torrent of revenge, Marika smashed and humbled in TRC 'mugging'

Makes for really hard watching as Springboks fan…particularly when hosting a Lekker braai with your Aussie mates…I decided to start doing the dishes at halftime, much better use of time.

Australia were gutsy and defensive efforts were great! However, in my opinion, this isn’t a great Wallabies team, and it was one that the Springboks should have tipped over. We desperately need form and attacking creativity. Form comes through obvious introduction of players such as Roos, Louw and hopefully return of Arendse (I wish Tambwe had citizenship). Creativity through adding to the coaching staff and some tough instructions hopefully from the powers that be.

And for goodness sake, reverse the front row bench and have Kitsie and Marx start!

ANALYSIS: Boks need new blood and new ideas, and should take a lesson from Cheika's Argentina

Perplexed and disappointed by Boks selection for this game.

We KNOW what Frans and Duane can bring to the game, but what we NEED is for Roos and Louw and other youngsters to get game time before the WC. This was a perfect opportunity that’s gone astray, particularly to counter Wallabies style of play. I foreshadow a very early introduction of the bench for the front and back row…

Hoping for a win but don’t think Boks will make it 2/2.

Springboks team: Faf returns to No.9 as South Africa make two changes for Wallabies clash

Sad mate. I can see the frustration with one or two calls in the game but as others have mentioned, it doesn’t make up for NZ being sub par in so many critical areas of play.

I’ve watched many games were NZ has enjoyed the rub of the green…you win some you lose some…

I hope your team recover and that this could be a circuit breaker a year out from the World Cup.

ANALYSIS: Brutal Boks suffocate All Blacks despite early setback, exposing more problems for Foster to solve

Same feeling Harry. I was hesitant at the start of the game, but the Haka actually gave me confidence that the Boks will take it.

The culture within this NZ team is off, but probably hard to build culture or find real cohesion when you haven’t been able to settle a side for so long. I also get the impression that there is too much ego in that camp and they aren’t able to process losses like most teams. Double edged sword of winning so much…

Your AB’s were caught with their pants down…
Agreed, NZ was the better team during that opening match with the Boks. But go a bit further into the Cup, and how teams developed their play during the Cup, and you will come to the conclusion that NZ simply weren’t good enough. Have a look at some really great analysis by Wibble Rugby (England v NZ) and Squidge Rugby (South Africa throughout the Cup) on Youtube and you will see that tactically, these teams were one step ahead…and well prepared for NZ come finals.

It’s always hard to see your team lose (even harder if you, much like most of the world, expected them to win), but chipper up and be a good sport mate…NZ will bounce back and we have some really good rugby to look forward to.
