Yet a factor you missed out is that Movistar is strong, and they have Quintana’s tour hopes on the line. It could be in their interest to push hard up Allos. The last 5 kms averages >7%, and at altitude, this could be enough to do some damage. At the very least, if Movistar push hard, Froome will be much more isolated on the descent than he was in the Dauphine.
That being said, Thomas should be able to respond to any of Movistar’s attacks if they come, so don’t think we will be seeing Froome completely isolatd.
