Think I have watched the best game ever since watching games on tv since 1974.The speed of the game was incredible with beautiful passes and skills from both teams.Ronaldos hattrick was superb from a player in outstanding form he kept Portugal in the game and nearly scored a fourth goal in the last 10 minutes.Spain were superb and really the better team on the day and probably deserved to win.Spain showed no bad affects from the last minute sacking of their coach perhaps that made them more determined to win.These 2 teams are on a different level to Socceroos us at 5 and them at 10/10.I am sure we will give a good fighting display against billion dollar team France tonight.Go well team all of Australia is with you and maybe you could at least get a draw..

Ronaldo is the greatest player of the modern age bar none he is now and will always be my number 1.I did not see Pele play on live tv but we are told he is the greatest he certainly played lots of matches and scored plenty of crucial goals.

Boring 1st half, after 1/2 time things improved with inclusion of Jedinak and Irving and finally we scored by Arzani getting a lucky goal from goalie error.I think Jedinak should remain as captain he is what the team is used to and knows how to direct the on field action.Error rate will have to be better when we play against France on Saturday night or we may get a drubbing.Arzani shows plenty of promise with speed and ability and not scared to take on defenders.I would start him in the eleven and keep goalie as Ryan who made some good saves..

I have been following Australian soccer since 1974 when we played the world cup think it was in Germany and had a live coverage in black and white tv about 1 am.Yes that night in 2006 will be my greatest moment I have seen. I was driving home from work at the time listening on the radio and when John converted I had to stop because I was so emotional.That moment will last in our memories forever our first world cup appearance in 32 years.Glad to see Tim Cahill going to 2018 world cup his experience and knowledge will be invaluable.

Must agree with you Lance, Inglis is a good footballer but out of his depth being captain.He had a good game in defence thank god he did not hurt little Nathan in that big tackle-what a bully he is.I do not care what happens to Maroons but they need Slater back to be captain and give the team on field direction.Let them stay the way they are we will finish them off in Sydney and win the series.

What a great win. It was a hard match with Qld defending like their lives depended on stopping NSW scoring.Inglis played like a man possessed he was their man of the match.In the end our speed proved too much.Maloney and Cleary dominated 2nd half ably assisted by Tedesco who was my man of the match.Klemmer ,Cordner and Frizell great forward power down the middle and rugged defence.Bring on Game 2 at Sydney we will be better , finish cane toads off and win series.This could be the start of a winning dynasty for us long suffering Blues supporters.Congratulations coach Fittler you have a winning combination.

Tim recently played for the Socceroos for 90 mins and scored 2 goals and helped us qualify.It would be be better if he was still playing for Melbourne City and having game time but that is not happening unfortunately.BVMs appointment as coach seems to be a good move by the FFA hopefully he has the drive and experience to get the best from the team.It will be interesting to see how the team goes when they play some friendlies in the coming months.Whether BVM wants to use Tim Cahill is up to him I think he should use Tims experience he is a proven striker and goal scorer and a match breaker.

5-0 is a decisive win to Melb. City any way you look at it.Lack of defense by Adelaide especially in the 2nd half made this Adelaides worst game of the season.Their goalkeeper given little support by defenders perhaps there was a fitness problem due to the recent severe game schedule in the hot temperature holiday period.

I agree Tim needs weekly game time to keep his match fitness he is quite fit and looks after himself.I think he would be an asset in Russia he certainly would not be the oldest player ever to play in a World Cup.I guess it depends on his asking price he may be asking too much for clubs that do not want to pay a lot for a 38 year old player.So Tim could retire, do a coaching course and offer his services perhaps an A league club would like or Premier League for example Arsenal who need to replace A.Wenger who loses too many games..

Kevin Muscat has not changed much he is a little more controlled as coach now.I like Graham Arnolds use of Matty Simons he knows when to bring him on.I would call him” the enforcer” hope he scores a goal soon.How about Wayne Rooney he was a terrific finisher at Man Untd and now going ok at Everton.Berisha for Melb. Victory you either like or hate him he plays with plenty of passion too bad Socceroos cannot user him.Lastly the Jeff Thomson/Deniss Lillee combination ripped England apart at SCG in 1974 I was there shouting Lillee Lillee LIllee and we bowled them out with lethal bouncers from either end of the SCG.

I think this Castle woman appointment is not a good move, what is her experience.Too bad Allan Jones on radio holidays I am sure he would say a few things about this.Why not give the job to Peter Fitzsimmons a man with heaps of rugby and media experience.

Steve Smith has the potential to be 1 of the great captains of the modern era like Border,Chappels,Ponting and Waugh.He was ably supported by fellow team members and made England look inferior in comparison.Even so the last 2 tests at Melbourne and Sydney should be excellent with team pride on the line.I expect big crowds at both venues.

Well as I have told my competitive son there must be a winning team and a losing 1.This is pure logic if every team won than you would not have a table like 1 to 10.Both John and Kevin are very competent coaches with much experience either 1 could coach Socceroos ably.Kevin takes his teams losses harder than John, Kevin will always say what he wants to.On the other hand John is more pleasant in interviews and diplomatic to the Media.Both these coaches will still be there at the end of the current season they are admired by team members and fans.

No doubt Sydney FC is the top team at the moment and will probably win the triple crown for 2017/18 season.Wanderers paying fans deserved a much better performance from their team than that garbage on Saturday night.Coach Gombau will hopefully be able to produce better results from a team that has plenty of talent just not showing it at present.If Newcastle Jets can go from wooden spoon last year to 2nd on table now keep positive fans they will be better next week.Lastly Popovic leaving the club did not help matters but that was his prerogative.

Great effort from our players all played well above their usual peformances especially Matt Ryan ,Mathew Leckie and Aaron Mooy.Very unlucky to not get a draw I think Tim Cahill could have come on in final 15 minutes he may have jagged a goal.Every time we tackled Frenchies they took a dive especially when they were given penalty to score first goal.Anyhow we are still in the big dance with a bit of luck win our next 2 matches and all will be ok.
