I do not like 7pm start match on Sundays-cannot see the need for this at a time when people having sunday dinner.

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Round 10

Tim in my opinion is the best player ever for the national team he has proved his value time after time.Without him we would not have qualified for 2018 world cup look at the effort when he played full games.Tim is a young 38 and maintains a high degree of fitness.CCM would be good and give him plenty of game time.Mariners would benefit hugely from his experience and enthusiasm and prove a crowd puller.

Cahill leaves City: Why, how, and what next?

Agree Chris lets not be over negative this early. We had a long and stressful qualifying journey(22 matches) and we proved how good we can be.Unfortunatelly Ange decided to resign when we really need him too bad we will be ok. FFA needs to find coach NOW. I would like to see an Aussie like Graham Arnold or John Aloasi appointed these guys have the experience and culture knowledge.I predict we will progress into the finals and surprise many like we did in 2006.

The Socceroos are going to get 'smashed' in Russia

I hope the FFA hires an Australian coach Graham Arnold being the best prospect with his experience and winning ways.Others to consider-John Alosai ,Tim Cahill as captain coach and Craig Foster who has playing experience and superior football knowledge.Goodbye Postecoglou you were always leaving and tried to blame the media who has a job and a right to criticise coaches.Your continual complaining about not being 1 of the in crowd was annoying and I for 1 will not miss that.FFA make a decision NOW so the team and aussie fans know what is going on.

Arnold hails Sydney FC's strength of mind

This is a disgraceful waste of public money and the nsw govt should be ashamed of itself by supporting this project Surely a renovation of facilities would solve many problems including extra toilets. Also a new stadium at Olympic park is not necessary however it would be ok to construct a moveable roof like the 1 in melbourne at ethiad stadium I think.
Premiers reason is that Sydney could lose the nrl grand final, so be it, Brisbane should have a turn especially when 2 qld teams involved.Money should be directed to improving hospitals and education system before we all go into billions of dollars debt.

The SFS rebuild is a complete waste of money

The Blues have a perfect opportunity to win this match and clinch the series. We beat them with ease in game 1 at Brisbane and will do it again tonite in Sydney.Tonites match will be tougher for sure with changed Qld side. Just shut down Slater and Thurston and ref stop the wrestling moves and hold downs from Smith.Blues to win by 12 with Man of the Match to James Tedesco. First try scorer to Jaryd Hayne.Give it to them Blues we are all behind you.

State of Origin Game 2 preview: Two key factors that will decide the game

We were not good in the 1st half and conceding a goal in 1st 5 minutes is not the ideal way to start the match.Much better effort in the 2 nd half with some positional changes by coach Postecoglou resulting in 2 goals mainly due to goalies errors.Overall a fair effort and remember 1 of Germanys goal was from a penalty.Tim Cahill should have been brought on earlier with say 20 minutes remaining.

Highlights: Germany too good for Socceroos in Russia

I completely agree with you-Brazil played classy football grades above the Socceroos just what you would expect from the number 1 World Champs and that was not their best team on the field.Confederations Cup will be tough I hope the team puts on a good display and get a draw at least. We are Asian Cup winners and may be able to give the world sides like Germany a few surprises I am sure all players will give it their best effort.

Roos' Confed Cup dress rehearsal ends in 4-0 defeat

I think you meant to say Socceroos lucky to win not Apples but we did enough in the 2nd half to get 3 points for the win.We should have got a penalty in the 1 st half when Leckie made a run in the penalty area and was pushed over by the Saudia defender. This occurence the referee and lines person chose to ignore.Great 2nd half goal from Rogic and our defence went up a gear with Saudis running out of fitness.Japan at home will be a challenge however 1 we can overcome. Thailand should be a sure 3 points and we will be going to Russia in 2018.Congratulations Socceroos keep up the great work.

Socceroos beat Saudi Arabia in spite of systemic issues

The timing and programming of this very important match is unfortunate to say the least. It is ,as far as I know, not on free to air tv so loses a lot of interest to many soccer fans straight away.Thursday night of a long weekend is not good with many people going away for a weekend break. It should have been played tonight Wednesday in either Sydney or Melbourne preferably where there are more sport and soccer fans.Good luck Soceroos ,we have them at home, so lets score plenty of goals and defend like your life depends on it.

Will the Socceroos make the World Cup and does Australia even care?

There needs to be a huge turn around in form for the Bulldogs to have any chance against the highly competitive Dragons on Holiday monday. After 4 consecutive losses, the last against Panthers 38 to 0,team confidence and morale must be low.Josh Morris should go to fullback and with James Graham playing he hopefully will be able to inspire and motivate the players to a higher level. If we do not win on Monday our chance of making the finals for 2017 is practically zero.

Des' Canterbury no longer the Dogs of war

Just make A League in its present form to a winter comp and leave summer to cricket.Even incorporate a team from Tasmania they have 1 for cricket so why not give them an interest in soccer.

Australian football needs its own Super League

Yes agree with you A league is a summer comp. with players having to play in extreme heat at times. To prove its real popularity and value it needs to take on the traditional winter sports like NRL,AFL and Rugby.I am fortunate to be a Foxtel subscriber so see it what ever happens. In summer we have the Premier League ably handled by SBS especially Craig Foster whose intelligent analysis and comments on the game are always viewable Summer for me has always been beach life and cricket and will continue so.So Mr. Gallop you did a good job in the NRL lets start A league as a winter comp and see how we go.

A-League gets its FTA future, but loses football's SBS heritage

I think Maroons problem is deeper than having Thurston absent-their defence in 2nd half especially, I am happy to say, was really off.I agree with your ratings basically Fifita really stood out,Maloney was 7.5 and Tedesco saving many tries. 9.Pearce did not show much in attack though he did score a try and should be there next time. His repetitive kicking on 5 th in 1st half to Corey Oates was really going nowhere. We should finish off this series in 3 weeks time when we have them in Sydney.

State of Origin 2017 Game 1 player ratings: New South Wales Blues

For sure Qld. at home will not be an easy game for the Blues.Maroons will miss their star players but remember they seem to go up a gear in the last 10 minutes especially. The Blues have the experience and players in form to get the job done.Mitchell and James know each others games and are cool under pressure.Gallen not there ,who cares less, our forwards will rise to the occasion with Doggies stars Josh Jackson and David Klemmer outstanding.Boyd Cordner will prove to be a very competent Captain just like he does for Roosters.Blues to win by at least 10 points

Why the New South Wales Blues will win Origin 1

I am not Roosters fan but Mitchell has been in good form lately and with his experience should go ok and justify Lauries selection.Besides that there are no other number 7s that come to mind[not sure of Adam Reynolds eligibilty] for this position so give him a go in game 1 and see what happens.

NSW selectors’ credibility on the line with Mitchell Pearce

Taxpayers money should be used in more benefical ways like improved schools and hospitals and the athletes pay their own way if they can afford it.To save costs they should go home when their event is finished and not hang around the athletes village waiting for the close of ceremonies.Nobody makes the athletes train most of their time this is their decisions while most of us work in boring repetitive work.Of course you can pursue your dream of being an Olympian but at your own cost. The British system of having lotteries for funding seems to work ok and they are winning heaps of medals.Like somebody else said who will remember the name of most of these athl;etes in 6 months time.

We are not shareholders in our athletes

Huge improvement needed urgently and with All Blacks at home next week they will be even more formidable. Please JohnEales and George Gregan help us get some go ahead and form from the Wallabies and avoid embarrassment.

Five talking points: Bledisloe 1
