I agree. I didn’t join in the Twiggy chants as it all seemed a bit cultish for my liking. The announcer definitely needs to tone it down and things need to focus back on the rugby rather than on the Twiggy worship.

My experience at World Series Rugby
We got our free ticket offer for the game on Sunday sent to us yesterday. I was going to get tickets today as a Mother’s day present to myself, but won’t knock back free tickets. Not sure how long this will continue, but it’s been a very popular thing with the junior rugby clubs and all the allocated tickets have been snapped up quickly for both games.

I am blessed to have wonderful men in my life. My father set a very high standard and I have maintained that with the men in my life and I am better for having them as my friends. Unfortunately many women do not surround themselves with good men.
I have a son and a daughter. The threat of violence towards them is an equal worry to me, However the fact still remains, that the most dangerous person in a woman’s life up until the age of 15 is their father (or other close male relative) and after 15 it is their partner.
Men are not alone in excusing bad behaviour. Many women also excuse disrespectful and abusive behaviour in men, and actually reward it by deeming it attractive. This needs to change and the many good men out there should be celebrated.

Yep. For whatever reason, Perth has some of the most successful sporting teams in Australia across a number of sports, and Rugby could’ve had a piece of that pie if it had’ve been smarter. It still can with the batch of home grown boys coming through the Force pathways, but not if they pull the pin now.

Agree. And yet rumour is that the coach of that winning team has just been given his marching orders. No idea about the circumstances around this, but it would seem really poor that they get rid of the only coach to have had any success with WA rugby in the last couple of years!

Early glimpses of a new Reds dawn
Yes last night was very emotional for everyone. I bet most clubs would love to have even a tenth of the connection that the Force do with their fan base. Ten home loses (and some very ugly rugby in that!), an early week night game with thunderstorms predicted, and still over 7000 people turn up (although that number was much higher). The atmosphere was great and there was a real feeling of a battle, not just on the field but off it as well. We are passionate rugby fans and we want to see rugby played in our city.
After the game, the whole of the Force squad, including coaches and assistants came to the edge of the field and a thanked the sea of blue. I don’t suppose they showed that on Fox……. A very emotional win.

Bit of a let down for Perth audiences. Going from Adele last night to Bieber on Monday! Oh well, lets hope the rugby in between in more like an Adele experience than a Bieber one……
Justin Bieber makes life tough for Force
Yes gutted our boys weren’t able to stand up and get the win. Didn’t feel that they deserved it with some basic errors and bad discipline, but also didn’t feel like we were greatly outplayed by the mighty Tahs. Falou completely silenced by Rona to the point that I forgot he was even playing, and Louwrens made Phipps look…well…like Phipps…. Coleman now has a real presence on the field.
Pity the game wasn’t played over here in Perth on a lovely warm dry evening…..

Don’t remember that game….. I know it gets hot here in Perth but not 36 degrees at 7 in the evening. And if that’s what our boys are used to, then why shouldn’t we have have it as a home ground advantage?

Agree. Whilst I want to support women’s sport, I’ve been really annoyed with the coverage over here in WA, with everyone crowing on about how wonderful and ground breaking the women’s AFL is, without even acknowledging that most other sports including rugby, cricket, basketball and league already have competitions. No mention of our world champion Pearls playing or our Glory ladies, despite them being in the finals!

Nah, we’re a happy lot today. Our kids are back playing, our clubs are back playing and now our state team is back playing. We’re living the rugby dream over here in the West.
