Agreed Chris. I believe England will advance. Every other team in group A will fall to Australia and New Zealand. (unless we witness a highly unlikely upset.) England should win all of their remaining games, today would have been a confidence boost and they will look to ride on that confidence into the finals.

Yeah, that team is the best we could field right now. But you are right, the rain will have the final say, and at this stage, it looks almost a certainty to be rained out, from what I’ve seen on weather sites and videos. We will see.

I agree! I think Watson has had plenty of chances. I think they have pretty much confirmed Clarke’s return to the side. Marsh is batting and bowling quite well, and as you said no need to have both Marsh and Watson, especially once Faulkner returns, but as you said the side’s balance will need to be revisited once Faulkner is available for selection.

Maxwell and Marsh batted at 6 and 7 respectively in Australia’s opening game, Faulkner usually bats around 7. If all 3 were in the same team, you could play around with the order, especially depending on the game situation, as we know Faulkner is know as “The Finisher” So you’d call on him in the closing overs. This is just my opinion on it, thanks for your input.

Im not too familiar with cricket at Eden Park, although i believe that the ground went under redevelopment for the 2011 Rugby World Cup? Has that changed the pitch placement? I read somewhere that the pitch now runs the same way the half way line runs on the rugby field, hence the short straight boundaries. Either way, expect fireworks!
