Building over four years seems to have conflicting evidence. Fiji seem to struggle to get their European stars into a well oiled machine. The Boks, on the other hand, had no such trouble.

Rugby Australia to review 'Giteau Law'

To win another RWC, we might need 15 Lance Armstrongs

Clean slate: Rennie appointment starts a new era for Australian rugby

Scrap it for the RWC year. Field our best players that year, regardless of where they’re playing. The other three years we can only pick locally. The local SR players will know they need to step up in a RWC year if they want to keep their spots.

If this drains our local talent to overseas, and we have improved enough to be RWC contenders without any OS players, then we can re-introduce it

You can search it on YouTube. Here’s the link if the filters allow me to post it

Dave Rennie speaks after being unveiled as the new Wallabies coach

He comes across well, no nonsense sort of guy. Hope he turns us around.

“Rugby smarts”, let’s hope he can bring this

Dave Rennie speaks after being unveiled as the new Wallabies coach

I’d be happy if he builds a young team with a potential 2 year doldrums. With the hope of peaking around 2023. I’d give him a 2 year grace period under the circumstances. Hope he goes well for us

Linking bushfires to gays, abortion or anything else is something that could incite a mob. Saying repent or go to an imaginary place, seems less likely to cause a mob lynching or witch hunt. These days anyway, in the past all sorts of corporal punishment were delivered in brutal deaths from less

Israel Folau links bushfire crisis and drought to same-sex marriage and abortion

So he shouldn’t have been sacked then?

Israel Folau links bushfire crisis and drought to same-sex marriage and abortion

Saying bushfires is caused by gays, abortions or anything else could incite an angry mob. Saying repent or you go to an imaginary place seems lesser to me.

Then again, humans can be pretty crap. Wasn’t that long ago we were hanging or burning people for any crazy accusation

If his latest comments are ok by you, then I’d suggest the comments that got him sacked should be ok as well

Why are you still here then? Already some hint of the LA Defense. Good luck with that

When will Japan join the Rugby Championship?

Great, flat earthier logic. Let’s ignore that we have cutdown around 3 trillion trees (around half the earth’s trees), since we discovered farming. The estimates that all wild fish stocks will be gone in the next 50 years. That we might have already past the point of no return with climate change.

Instead, let’s argue amongst each other about data interpretations.

I forget who said this, but if it is real and we do nothing, then we have a massive catastrophe that will potentially kill billions. If it isn’t real, then doing something won’t really hurt us much. Possibly a small economic burden, but nothing we can’t recover from. So if the downside of doing something, and it’s not real is so low, then the smartest action is to at least act on this data

Mann’s science has been disputed by respected scientists. Whether he eventually wins at the Supreme Court, or loses, is irrelevant to the data. His court cases have devolved to a jury deciding on opinion.

NASA composed a list of respected scientists’ data on climate change. Unless you think NASA is in on the conspiracy as well.

The Roid boys are always complaining about travel time. Ditch them and take Japan

When will Japan join the Rugby Championship?

Well I’m going to buck the trend of this article and say that we don’t listen enough to irrelevant people’s opinion. If you remember back 20 years ago, then you will remember the Italian parliament elected a porn-star. That would be my dream team in parliament: Cicciolina, the Hedgehog, a cloned John Holmes, and Stormy Daniels

The Wrap: The art of writing the recurring rugby column

Folau seems a dimwit to me, but he is very good at pushing the boundaries of what is considered freedom of speech, and what crosses the line into incitement. I don’t claim or pretend to have all the answers when it comes to what crosses the line, or doesn’t. What I do use is the UDHR definitions that I’ve posted several times. What are you using?

The whole what is, or isn’t, freedom of speech question, often boils down to people’s filters. George Carlin says it well…

“Everyone appreciates your honesty, until you’re honest with them. Then you’re an assh*le”

I’m good at that at least

Not it isn’t far. Question is did he cross the line with his original posts that got him sacked. Personally, I think not, but happy for the courts to decide.

Freedom of speech has it’s limits. I’ve posted those limits before, but will repost.

“ Freedom of speech and expression, therefore, may not be recognized as being absolute, and common limitations or boundaries to freedom of speech relate to libel, slander, obscenity, pornography, sedition, incitement, fighting words, classified information, copyright violation, trade secrets, food labeling, non-disclosure agreements, the right to privacy, dignity, the right to be forgotten, public security, and perjury.”

He may have crossed the line of incitement. Rallying other mono-theists to just let Australia burn because it’s God’s will. Endangering people’s lives and property.

Freedom of speech should be defended, provided it stays within the UDHR guidelines. That’s just my two cents anyway

Israel Folau links bushfire crisis and drought to same-sex marriage and abortion

Yes freedom of speech includes the freedom to call out dumb stuff like Folau’s stance. Will further to this with my reply to Paulo

Israel Folau links bushfire crisis and drought to same-sex marriage and abortion

He pushed the line on free speech in the past, but this comment seems to have crossed the line into harm in this world… as opposed to harm in an imaginary world. Harm to gays. Harm to victims of the real fires, instead of his imaginary fires. Harm to the firefighters, who he seems to believe should stand-by and watch Australia burn, because we deserve it. Harm to women, and possibly their partners, facing the painful decision on an unwanted pregnancy

Even a big supporter in freedom of speech, will struggle to defend this one.

On another note. Has anyone heard the audio floating around the internet of Cheika giving the boys a blast at half time against England?

Wondering if it’s real? Either way didn’t seem to have much of an effect
