“We’ve got to be ready for that war”

Nothing about how we have to improve the way we play. Better at keeping the ball playing better in transition etc

Sounds like we are about to play a game of Rugby League?

First time comment here. These comments have been informative
I have always loved the beautiful game and played a lot until I was 30. But not having been involved in junior soccer in recent years I am not an expert on what we need to do. But can someone answer some questions for me? Or maybe there is no answers?
I went and watched Australia v Japan at Olympic Stadium earlier in the year. Frankly Australia was appalling. Our technical skills were very poor, we had no ability to hold the ball make space and create goal scoring opportunities. We essentially relied very heavily on the talented Ajdin Hrustic. Japan was the exact opposite and were a joy to watch. Ball on the ground creating triangles finding spaces
Every WC we look the same. Very poor on the ball. I wouldn’t mind us losing if we played with skill like many of the Asian teams.
If we have so many young people playing football (despite the cost!) and A League has all these development programs why is the best 11 so technically poor?
And once again as someone who knows nothing about junior development what happened to playing the “Dutch way” which was going to revolutionise football. As I recall that was after the 2006 WC and 16 years later where are the 21 yo coming through?
I’m just an interested spectator who gets so frustrated with the Socceroo’s although I live in hope we will beat Tunisia on Sat night
