I would rather see them play a 3 game series in the middle of the NRLW season. Playing Origin before the season makes no sense because no one has been watching them week to week it’s just dumped in front of us on the back of the men’s games.

Why wouldn’t the Blues look at JDB? He has one of the best tackling techniques in the game, can pass before the line, plays equally well at lock and prop and has played Origin previously so won’t be overawed by the occasion. As for Tedesco it’s clear he is no longer the best fullback in the game, that honour goes to Dylan Edwards. How long do you hold on to a veteran fullback who is only in the side because he is captain? Seems like Freddy and Teddy will both bow out of the Origin arena in 2023

You could play Origin on the weekend and it would be just as popular, if not more so. They can’t even sell out game 1 which I imagine is mainly due to the Wednesday night timeslot, school and work the next day. Game doesn’t start until after 8

They should put the NRL season on hold for a month and play the 3 games and get it over with. It’s far too disruptive to the NRL season and you could play internationals during the month as well, obviously not Australia but pacific nations, England and NZ

I’ve got no issue with JDB being made captain for one game. I suggest the author calm down and have a think about what’s happening. He is the most experienced player and has shown tremendous character to still be playing after what he went through having to defend himself and losing 2 and as half years of his career when he was at his prime. The woman’s story had many holes in it and was riddled with inconsistencies. JDB made a mistake, yes, but going bananas over one game is just ridiculous.

I would argue going through all that bs and coming out the other side shows tremendous character. Lesser men would have taken the easy route and quit the game

Cook’s game hasn’t evolved in 3 years and I reckon 40% of his passes are forward. Api provides much more strike out of dummy half and has the combination with the Panthers players

It’s no coincidence that the Dragons won without Jack Bird and Moses Mbye. Both are ordinary and should be moved on. The Dragons are actually in a healthy position off the field. $3m profit posted last year and $40m of the $50m required for the centre of excellence guaranteed by the NSW government which will transform the club. More staff available for pathways programs and half the club owned by WIN with a net worth close to a billion dollars. If they can sort put their on field stuff they could be the next powerhouse club
