i think the concern Mary is the figures of the grand final are not the same throughout the entire series. the BBL outrated the WBBL all but the grand final… in saying that the WBBL has been going for what 7 years now and they are building fantastic momentum which is what the NRLW needs to continue to do

thats like saying we can ditch the roosters cause the rabbitohs have that region covered….Tweed Heads have been around for over a century and provide much needed junior and grass roots coverage into the vast area.

Mary did you actually read the article? – he mentions in there that the way for the pay rises and the correct level of funding to come is for the womens game to play what brought all of the eyeballs to womens origin in 2018….free flowing open hard hitting football. if the NRLW copies the NRL and goes more into the wrestling etc and there is no way to identify the difference . Paul Kent even admits this the the style of football the NRLW players played was enticing to watch, but you have seen it go throughout the 3 seasons of more into the boring mundane football which people complain about in the NRL constantly? – i can agree with you that the editor that made the headline needs a talking too, the women deserve to be paid more which is starting to happen with representative games but needs to go further into the NRLW competition. the outrage at Paul kent providng commentary that people getting paid the same because of effort in sport doesnt happen. you can make the same argument that player 30 in the top squad may make more effort in training and the game over player 1, but their pay packet is drastically different.

You do realise that the nrl fund the rlpa right??? They get $100k per club from the salary cap for $1.7M. They wanted more money and were going to go out and fundraise , nrl said no we will cover that so you don’t have players representing opposition brands etc. this was to the tune of $1.3M dropped down to $300k since covid. Wants to be a truely independent organisation then take no money from the nrl, nothing from the salary cap and players pay their union or organisational dues as every other member of a union does if they choose too. Do you know why they don’t? Cause before the current model players didn’t want to pay to be apart of it so they took that choice away from them
