Burgess is not burning his bridges just yet. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back in rugby union . He’s good enough to give it another try and he’s had a taste of International rugby. The attractions of a Sydney lifestyle might distract him though from achieving what he could with England (R.U that is) though.

Eddie Jones is right about me: Burgess

Fiji would do well to look at the Sam Burgess debacle that England self inflicted on themselves. Hayne will not be ready for Rio. Don’t make the same mistake.

Jarryd Hayne faces uphill battle to make team for Rio

I’ll be a Twickers on Sunday to , maybe , see him play. He’s an excellent rugby player. It’s up to Fiji to decide who is in their team. The Idea that one of their players will miss Rio to make way for him is going to need some spinning though. Interesting to say the least.

Why Hayne probably shouldn’t make the Fiji sevens side

The only place I can think of having a Scotland game is in the Borders . There’s little Interest in league in Scotland and such is the ambition of the 4 Nations organisers they will target existing supporters in the north ie Lancs & Yorks to make the less arduous journey to Cumbria.

2016 Four Nations draw revealed, rugby league headed to Anfield

England is in good shape. I would put them ahead of Australia right now. We’ve forgotten the RWC debacle and have quickly recovered to find a team about to give our Southern Hemisphere cousins a stiff reminder of their place, albeit above us en moment ,.

Cheika refuses to weigh into Super Rugby debate

If the Australians were to loose many of their first choice players they could quickly a very ordinary International side . By contrast England will be sending their best players on this Southern expedition and have much depth in talent to choose from. I’m expecting a total English whitewash of these South sea Islanders. While we are doing it I fully expect our travelling supporters to drink your pubs dry and do inappropriate things with your womenfolk.

Don't hate Eddie's England just because it's England

aus should really have one this one after getting the New Zealanders out cheaply . They didn’t. 20/20 great fun but hardly a gauge of what cricket is about.

Australia's litany of errors against Kiwis

Fortress Twickenham is once again shaping up to be a burial site for visiting antipodes. There’s a core of players now that England has which will grow in strength. Jones is fortunate to have inherited such a potentially strong squad .

Grand slam Jones eyes rugby's big guns

6 Nations can evolve but doesn’t need too. It’s completely Ok .

How to improve the Six Nations

No , if you aren’t too sensitive the code wars make good debates. The high number of contributors is testament to that. Stick to Facebook if mutual loving is your thing.

Why code wars are for losers

Wales should be a Rugby League Nation . Their talents at rugby union are not expressed in Union.

Welsh play down Scots dominance

Italy should stick to soccer.

Jones looks to tire Italy in Six Nations

A bit strong calling Mcullum a hypocrite. Lords seems to find him non character flawed enough to have him Invited to address their yearly jolly. Goodness gracious.

Brendon McCullum disappoints me, but not for the usual reasons

What does not kill me will make me not actually dead.

Eraser: Eddie removes Arnie quote from England rugby centre

Perhaps with golf now part of the Olympics there is a shift from ancient perceptions of what the Olympics are about. Wrestling and Archery are not great entertaining sports for a market driven sports Olympics now and they will fade away . 7s rugby might be a perfect fit for global medias.

Tietjens under "no pressure" to pick SBW

Toulon aren’t joining the Arriva . Why would they when there is already a European Cup to play for? Might be time for a final between best N.H team v best S.H teams . That would give Toulon a serious challenge.

Toulon target English premiership spot

I suppose the death of rugby union in Oz can be put off for another season. From this side of the Planet it sometimes looks the game is on borrowed time. We brave few of England have usurped your dark prince named Jones to make our very owns. A plague apon your house , we are going to make worms meat of youse.

'Tis the summer of our discontent

All it takes is one entrepreneur who thinks outside the box to bring the 2 codes together.

When will the rugby codes finally merge?

I hope Scotland beat them.

Jones wields axe on backroom staff

I wouldn’t be too worried . Rugby , like most things, will probably be different to today’s game and life moves on. I’d expect some kind of coalition between league and union to happen once the old buggers from either shuffle off somewhere. Games in good health if the last RWC is any guide.
Can’t see why we(England) think an Australian might be the answer though to our recent bad results.

Time for rugby to have an International Champions Cup

Other nations from around the World play a plethora of sports. Inferring that there is an achievable RL calendar that is not 3 countries playing each other over again is delusional.
Adding France to the Triangular would be good and achievable.

Fix the international rugby league calendar

Having an International calendar infers the existence of an International game. Beyond 3 teams that simply does not exist in any way. No matter how you dress it , 4 nations , World Cup , whatever , there are only 3 competitive teams.
You can’t invent an International calendar , no matter how many “heritage” teams you manufacture. The Kangaroos realise this , so they don’t bother.

Fix the international rugby league calendar

I’ve never seen England throw away a game like that . The team changes near the end scuppered us. The Welsh can’t believe their luck.

England vs Wales highlights: Rugby World Cup scores, blog

The All Blacks looked stale and bereft of Ideas. The WBs played well but looked ordinary apart from their scrum which was a revelation. The intensity of past Bledisloes wasn’t there so maybe it wasn’t a true gauge of World Cup potential. Too much rugby can do that to players. Here in the NH we are embarking on meaningless games amongst each other this month that will drain enthusiasm.

Wallabies expose Sonny Bill in All Black wake-up call

Cips is unlikely to make the final squad. He is the most talented fly half we have but doesn’t have his father as an assistant selector like a certain other player who also has Rob Andrew tendencies of not being terribly Interesting but is reliable.

Path clear for Cipriani to rejoin England squad, despite arrest
