Fantastic article Tony. Ned sounds like such a down to earth, articulate, insightful bloke. What makes rugby so great is the diversity of players and characters we have across the pro ranks. Hope he pushes for a spot in the wallabies squad this year.

Jibba the kiwi teams and especially the all blacks have perfected the ‘follow-through’ clean out where they grab any player past the ruck and disguise it as part of the clean out. Always seemed like pocock was targeted for this and there were countless times he was held off the ball near a ruck with no consequences

I like this stance by Cheika. Although Beale may be one of his pet players at the waratahs, he knows that things are very different at Wallaby level and players need to know that things are going to be done a certain way. It will be a massive job to lift this team for the final matches of the year but hopefully they will be playing to impress him and earn some respect going into the WC year.
On a side note- Does anyone know if the Baa baas game this weekend is being televised here on either free to air or Fox??

Also looked like the brumbies player (Samu?) was clearly on the ball in a stable position and had forced the penalty?. Not certain of this though. Hard to believe the minimal ruck penalties given away by the Blues in the match compares to the Brumbies, the ruck was a mess all night. Biggest positive for me was the Brumbies being able to sustain the intensity for 80 mins, something Aus teams and the Wallabies have been unable to do against NZ opposition. With a few better decisions on attack they should have won that game against all odds
