Best football moment would be watching the 1964 GF replay of beating Essendon last year.

Whoever bumped him deserved the three weeks. Just too reckless.

Dylan Roberton: The scariest thing you've seen on a football field

How embarrassing. What a disaster. All I can say.

Very funny. Loved the article 😀

It's not all doom and gloom for loyal Dee fans

I had a feeling that was why. He was great last year though.

Wouldn’t Brisbane also be an outside chance of making the eight if Essendon lose all of their points? Although they’re inconsistent against the top teams (rubbish against Sydney and Hawthorn yet winning against Essendon and Geelong), they have a fairly kind draw, with winnable games against us, Port, St Kilda, GWS and the Bulldogs. Carlton and West Coast have harder draws, by comparison. At any rate, Essendon vs Hawthorn, Sydney vs Hawthorn and Port vs Carlton should be interesting games.

Your AFL team's run home: Part I

LRT should be on that list. Excellent up forward or in defence.

Most NRL games pull less than 20,000, don’t they?

Time for Sheedy to step aside at Giants

Don’t worry Susan, I don’t like the Giants either.

Time for Sheedy to step aside at Giants

The Eagles have been probably the most disappointing team this year. Flag favourites before Round 1, and they’ve not lived up to expectations at all. Yes, injuries have been a problem, but they should have had the depth to cover it. Shocking home record too. The Patersons fortress seems broken.

Eagles face pivotal clash against Swans

He is quite a good opener, and seems to work well with Warner, who unfortunately is unavailable, being a stable counterbalance to Warner’s risk-taking play. Seems strange that he is No. 3.

We must stick steady with steady Eddy

I think Clarke should be moved back to No.5, and keep Agar where he is at the moment. He’s had one excellent Test, but I wouldn’t move him until we see a bit more. If he does a reasonable job at Lord’s, then I would consider moving him up then.

ASHES: How Australia should line up for the second Test?

I say that we were lucky even to come close to England. Dismal batting and average bowling. Come on Australia this is the Ashes!

ASHES: Australia's nail-biting loss - how can we win?

The Lions have got to change those jumpers back to the old one.

No matter the result, wouldn’t the experience of seeing one’s sporting heroes in one of the best soccer teams in the world be a good enough experience? Should be good for the economy too.

Is it still an All Stars game without the stars?

If his heart is not in it, then it’s not worth going after him. There are other experienced coaches who could do as good a job and have the heart and will to do it. What’s wrong with our current coach? Craig did an excellent job with Adelaide and since he has taken over the reins from Mark Neeld we have been much more competitive and he seems to have injected life and run into the team. Whatever happens, let’s hope that the selection panel (thankfully omitting Garry Lyon) chooses the right coach with lots of experience, and not an untried one with none.

Why Roos must be the next Demons coach

Once Sheedy goes, the “rivalry” will probably die off. Funny how it’s always the Giants talking it up, and the Swans just unenthusiastically say “yep…we respect them blah blah blah”. Couldn’t believe all the verbal diarrhoea issuing from Sheedy’s mouth before the first game and the notion that Sydney should just be confined to being east of the ANZAC Bridge. Does that mean I must support your plastic, sterile franchise? I don’t think so Sheeds. Go Swans!

Upset the best result for Giants and Sydney

If North hadn’t fallen apart in the last quarter against all those teams, wouldn’t they be in the top four? I personally think that they can beat anyone, provided they put their minds to a four quarter effort.

North Melbourne's best finally good enough

Has been a pretty short one. Geelong has been in the running for how many years? I personally think that Carlton has (apart from last week) been competitive and good this year, but have been unlucky or unable to overcome the opposition. I think that Murphy should not have been made captain; he has gone backwards this year.

Carlton's premiership window closed - it's rebuild time

Not saying we’re any better. Just thought that the Doggies might have done better considering lowly we beat them last week. Saw the game on TV and it was woeful.

Well done boys. Very proud of today’s effort.

Terrible standard of play. Doggies making dozens of errors and GWS are just as poor.
