Best football moment would be watching the 1964 GF replay of beating Essendon last year.

Get him off! It’s not looking good for Essendon or the League!

For the game's sake, stand Jobe down now

Excuse me. I have attended quite a few SFC games with friends before, and always had a pleasant time. I was merely commenting on a potential problem that Australian society may have to face one day, if we aren’t facing it already. Like it or not, you can’t deny that hooliganism exists and is a problem in other countries. Violence in sport is unacceptable (be it player or spectator) and I believe that we must teach this to our children to ensure that they can go to sports games without fear of being assaulted or whatever.

You’re right about Europe though. Never seen a reason why I should go there, when you can find everything here in Australia.

The policing enigma of football fans in Australia

I think it is important that crowds do not end up like those in England for example, with the (stereotypical) packs of skinheads roving the streets after the game, beating opposition supporters up. Barracking in Australia has always been pretty pacifistic, and there isn’t too much crowd violence. Since many people have watched primarily European leagues (where there is quite a lot of violence – apparently) instead of the A-League, there might be a few people who think that that behaviour is acceptable and that is why that whoever is governing the game as well as the police need to crack down on it now before the cancer of hooliganism spreads.

Come on Blues! I’m taking my grandmother to Game III! She won’t be happy if we lose!

Four observations from State of Origin II

How big will the AFL let the GWS list be? They won’t have many retiring at the end of this year, and if they take Gia and Buddy, as well as several draft picks, then won’t the list be over fifty strong, when most clubs have around 44 or so? Isn’t that a little bit unfair to have more depth than everyone else, as well as the huge sums of money they are being given?

Could Giansiracusa become a Giant next season?

Hmm. You have a good point.

Jobe Watson's admission guarantees sanction for Essendon and its players

If they do make it, they’ll deserve it. Good luck to them.

Tigers threaten a top-four finish

I had Fremantle as GF contenders at the start of this year. Although Geelong at Kardinia is virtually mission impossible, they will probably suffocate Geelong unless the Cats are so fired up after last week that they’ll win. Will be a cracking game.

Are Fremantle the real deal?

If he took the supplements unknowingly and unintentionally, then it’s not really his fault. It’s the fault of the sports scientists who have supplied the drugs.

Very interesting read. Agree something has to be done about Clarke.

Lehmann's first priority: sort out Clarke

Best of luck Mr Lehmann. Fix up our off field problems first so we become a better team on field. Everything will get better.

Mickey Arthur's sacking will buoy both England and Australia

Wow. Well done Lions!

Brisbane Lions stun Geelong with thrilling comeback win

Not too bad. I’ll take that. Thanks for the coverage Brodie

Come on boys! Stop stuffing around!

I think we might be in with a chance, but St Kilda have been very good but unlucky so far this year. Anyway best of luck and Go Demons!

Saints vs Demons: the match of the round

We don’t want you either.

AFL don't want me running Demons: Kennett

Hopefully the club’s now learnt its lesson. I hope “No Plan B” Craig doesn’t stay on as head after this season

Neeld sacked: Melbourne's problems slowly being cut out

I’ll add that we should get rid of Royal too. He is hopeless.

Neeld sacked: Melbourne's problems slowly being cut out

I think that there isn’t any money left. I have pretty much run out of hope. I still love the Dees, and always will, but the situation is now hopeless after today.

Mark Neeld's Melbourne tenure meets its cruel end

Garry Lyon is a cancer on the club nowadays. If you’re talking about “removing the cancer” then get rid of him too. He’s never to be found when we get belted.

Neeld sacked: Melbourne's problems slowly being cut out

What a shame. Well done though Mark, you gave it your best and there’s nothing more one could have asked.

But where to for our club now? This time last week we had a head coach and a president. Now we have an interim coach and an interim president. Hardly a stable situation. The AFL will probably take control of the club’s board, and we will become a mere subsidiary of the League. The future looks pretty depressing. How are we to advance as a club if we change coaches so rapidly? Now the playing group will have to learn a new game-plan and adjust to the new coach’s expectations?

Neeld sacked: Melbourne's problems slowly being cut out

I’ll second the heroes thing. If we lose be 80-100 points, we are “insipid”. If they lose by a similar margin, they are “gallant”. We are usually insipid, but they’re certainly not gallant!

GWS Giants living up to their name

That was a great day. One of our two great quarters this year.

GWS Giants living up to their name

If the media left the poor bloke alone, he could actually get on with coaching our team. Although I do believe that the development staff must be held primarily responsible for our poor performance over the past few years.

Why the Demons need to stick with Neeld

What about our other recruits? Dawes, Toumpas, Viney, Jones and Terlich have been good this year and have showed a lot of promise (or in Dawes’ case, good leadership). Rodan was our best on ground against Hawthorn, and Pedersen and Byrnes haven’t been too bad this year.

Putting a ‘broom’ through our club will only set us back again. And we are sick of setbacks. Hopefully, if Neeld survives the trial-by-media, we can move forward as a club, which will be refreshing. I think that the only people who should go are the development coaching staff, because, clearly, Jack Watts is a long way behind Nic Naitanui. A couple of fresh faces on the board might be nice too.

Yes, recruitment may have been poor over the last couple of years. We need a good midfield. But we can only work with what we have, and make the best of it.

Neeld not to blame for Demon woes
