5 goals on debut isn’t something to laugh at. Only pre-season but he’s looking good.
Collingwood is finally finding its way forward
Not a bad debut for the big man. Only early yet but signs are good.
Collingwood is finally finding its way forward
I dare someone to watch last night’s game between Richmond and Melbourne and tell me that I was wrong about Jay Kennedy Harris. Will get his chance early and the season and will light up the Dees.
Five young guns to watch out for this AFL season
Good stuff Cam.
You and I completely agree on Brownlow, Coleman and most improved but I have Hawthorn winning the flag and Brisban fisnishing on bottom.

2014 AFL season predictions
I guess one of us will have egg on their face come September… odds are it will be me.
The 2014 AFL crystal ball
Agree SportsFanMelb.
That’s why I said in the article that I don’t think they’re going to wallow down the bottom for long.
The 2014 AFL crystal ball
Thanks for nailing your colours to the mast too johno.
Essendon in the top for is a big call. I know that had a good run for the first half of last season but I think they’ll be 6th-10th this year.
Agree with you on the anomoly of a year without a coach being sacked though.
The 2014 AFL crystal ball
I agree, Suns could definitely be knocking on the door of the 8.
The 2014 AFL crystal ball
Thanks Gecko. I agree, it’s almost a toss-up between the Lions and Saints for me.
The 2014 AFL crystal ball
Yeah Tippett and Roughy were both in my calculations too.
Tippett was basically the only big target in those 12 games but he’ll have some competition this year. On the other hand Roughy might get more attention from Defenders without Buddy their to distract them – which I know is inconsistent with my first point.
But I reckon Clokey will be there abouts and in the end it always ends up being a bit of gut call.
The 2014 AFL crystal ball
Perhaps my assessment of the Lions is too harsh but I reckon Gold Coast will outshine Brisbane.
It was a gut call but I guess one of us will be saying “I told you so” in a couple of months.
The 2014 AFL crystal ball
You’re right, it probably is a big call. St Kilda is the more obvious choice but sometime you just have to go with your gut.
Yeah, I’ve picked Pendlebury for years myself. I won’t be complaining if he finally gets the nod.
The 2014 AFL crystal ball
Thanks Steve.
I agree, the top end of last year’s draft was quite strong so we could see some first year players making a huge impact straight away.
As a Collingwood man, I hope you’re right about Brodie Grundy. It’ll be tough for him to handle number 1 ruck duties for a whole season but I reckon he’s got it in him.
Five young guns to watch out for this AFL season
Good call TomC. They are definitely 3 to watch.
There’s actually a bit of young class coming through Melbourne’s midfield with Toumpas, Dom Tyson, Jack Viney and Viv Michie combining. Perhaps they’ll surprise a few people over the next year or two.
Five young guns to watch out for this AFL season
Yes, great call.
He should have been on the list for sure.
Five young guns to watch out for this AFL season
Definitely, I couldn’t agree more – those boys will be stars for sure. I only left them out of the piece because I wanted to look at those guys that people may not have heard of yet. But good call.
Five young guns to watch out for this AFL season
Anyone want to put forward a rookie that they think will make an impact this year? Who have I overlooked?

The captain of Australia will always be under pressure.
It doesn’t matter how many you win in a row, it will always be a matter of what have you done for me lately. A couple of losses and he will be under the pump from public opinion immediately.
However, his job is safe for now as he’s the only obvious leader in the team at this point.
Is Michael Clarke already back under pressure?
The one thing that we didn’t really see from Brodie last year was the capacity to damage the other team in the forward line. If he can step up in front of goals, I agree he will be a revelation.
Collingwood is finally finding its way forward
I don’t think Watson is our best 11 anymore.
His few overs of bowling don’t make up for his inconsistency with the bat.
What will Australia's batting order look like in the second Test?
