Can we recover? Yes of course. Glory are still getting on top of teams for decent periods in matches but apart from Wellington away just haven’t put a full 90 together. The goals will come that’s not the biggest concern the left side is the main difference from last year after the loss of Davidson. Soo Beoum is Abit of a nothing player but Meredith was the player brought in to replace Jason and I think he’ll make huge difference in bringing that balance back. No panic from me just yet

Can Perth recover from their iffy start to the season?

A 4-4-2 would work hypothetically. You’d have to put Castro out wide which isn’t ideal but he’s played there before

Dump the doubters: The A-League needs Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Seen plenty of the world…along with most of Oz… wouldn’t live anywhere else.

There’s 13 players under 30 in the squad it’s all good.

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Round 4

Bit of a non story, we’ve made an “approach” along with 100 other clubs haha

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Round 4

Yeah he’d fit right in on the bench

If you must bring Glory into it please post accurate info….. O’donovan isn’t younger than half the Glory squad in fact the only outfield player in our starting 11 he’s younger than IS Castro.

Sydney, draw, WU, draw, Glory

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Round 4

Glory don’t seem to be as good? I don’t know about that. I’ve read some people’s opinions that we have a weaker side but I don’t agree I think Poppa’s recruited very well again. Looking forward to getting Meredith in the side for some added width he shouldn’t be far off

Fun factor back in A-League opening rounds

I don’t think they’ve gotten on top of anyone they’ve played so far for long enough periods to show they’re a contender for the Premiership. If they can get in a finals you never know they’ve shown an ability to hang in there and fight for a result which was their trademark in the early years

Are the Western Sydney Wanderers the real deal?

The round got off to a stinker Friday night but some great games across the weekend. The Sydney derby was a spectacle but I thought Sundays game between WU and City was the best game. If Melbourne City play like that for the rest of the season they’ll be contenders…but as we know they consistently inconsistent.
As for my mob the Glory a very professional away performance.Had shown glimpses in the first 2 games but Sunday was a proper 90min performance so hopefully we march on from here.

Six talking points from A-League Round 3

We do lack width atm but we haven’t seen Franjic or Meredith….who is more than a capable replacement for Davidson….at all yet. Teams have just made it hard for us to play through the midfield which it doesn’t take genius to do, when said players return our style of play will vary much more.

Tony Popovic: Give our new team time

If I was a betting man I’d be keeping my money in my pocket this week, I really do not know what to expect from any of the games. I agree with another poster that we could see a quite a few draws

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Round 3

Our start to the season has been frustrating but hardly panic inducing. It’s been a tight start to the season all round and no-ones really stood out to me, by about rnd 5 we’ll know more about this Glory side and if they’ll be serious contenders.

Tony Popovic: Give our new team time

Hey I said some nice things about the Roar in my first post

Late drama as the Roar make their point

Glory were knocked out of the FFA Cup early last season and drew 1-1 with a bang average WSW side rnd 1 at home last season so yeah very similar start for us..does that make things a little clearer?

Late drama as the Roar make their point

All the VAR calls were correct as they bloody well should be! Still soooo slow and disrupts the game far too much to have me totally onside with it for now

VAR has changed football, but we only have ourselves to blame

Poppa is very happy with the increased bench also, now he can fit both sons in there! Haha Glory fans could be forgiven for being a little nepotism-phobic thanks to the McMahon and Edwards families but my K-POP (ovich) looks a bright prospect, really liked his little cameo yesterday.

VAR has changed football, but we only have ourselves to blame

Early exit from the FFA Cup and poor showing in round 1 for the Glory is very deja Vu from last season so happy days! Seriously though have to be much better going forward. Some great signs that there in attack, Castro normally doesn’t get going till about rnd 5 so to see him taking the Mickey this early is mouth watering. A little one dimensional lacked some width which will change when our recognized full backs come into the side.
As the article says Brisbane showed plenty of character and deserved a point, could surprise a few this season.

Late drama as the Roar make their point

Bang average from Glory but nothing to panic about. Missed having our two full backs out there and Brisbane exploited it in the second half. The new CB’s looked solid and with Franjic and Meredith out there we’ll be much better. Nice to see Bruno/Castro/Ikon combining for our first goal they’ll be giving defenders nightmares all season.
All in all no one really stood out to me in round 1 though I missed Sydney v Adelaide…. probably have to say Western United did well to win and look like tricky customers.

Six talking points from A-League Round 1

Good to see Taggs banging them in and more importantly staying off the treatment table.

Antonis' Suwon sale gives new recruit a chance

We’ll have to see I guess Josh but I’m pretty confident that if you have another 2 seasons like the ones you’ve just had the crowds will stay the honeymoon period of a new stadium won’t last long… happy to be proved wrong though

It's time Wanderers fans proved they're the best in Australia

If they build it will they come? Not if they aren’t winning but that isn’t a Wanderers thing it’s an Australian sports fan thing, we’re fickle and that’s that really.
