Wasnt his contract front end loaded?

'Unfinished business': Neale reveals why he's committing to Lions despite Dockers link

He admitted he was wrong – he has apologised to the individual on video, fronted the press, he was publicly shamed (deservedly), was kicked out of the club in the short term, paid financially through lost sponsorship and marketing and has been suspended. I am not sure how much more you want out of him which has been the focus of your discussion – it is not as if Walker has murdered anyone – he made a mistake and paid for it which is a lesson to all. Yet what perplexes me is at the same time you use him as a comparison which is in part a defense of Greene whose act last week tears at the very fabric of the game – hence the AFL’s reaction.

AFL officially appealing Greene's three-match ban

Not sure what racism in society has to do with this as there are no umpires in society – however number one rule with umpires is that they are to be protected and you should never never touch an umpire.

Obviously that is what the Hawks are hoping for – the Crows would never agree to that deal they would be going backwards. The first draft pick hasnt been traded in like 20 years nor will the Crows do that.
Crows will take MacDonald over bidding for JUH – MacDonald has impressive runs on the board as an 18y.o. in the WAFL. The only concern for the Crows is the go home factor and WC will be looking for a key fwd in a few years.

Why the Crows shouldn't bid for Jamarra Ugle-Hagan with pick one

They gave up a few mid tier players to get Lynch there is not enough left to cover these losses.

Port Adelaide warns Gold Coast on drafting Lukosius, Rankine

Hi Pedro – in my organisation facy is short for facility – my bad, it was inferred in the article that some of our boys including McGovern have been individually training for awhile, your boys should certainly be doing that! However Pedro you didnt answer my question, did you read the article or you may have seen the news last night on the Crows position – the Crows are pretty adamant on this one, as we keep saying and regardless of all the Carlton comments here, you will pay the amount asked or not and we keep him, which I think the Crows would be happy with as well. Realistically we like him that much that Tex didn’t even have a go at him on the news last night.

Mitch McGovern is a different deal to Bryce Gibbs

Maybe it should be said that he is training at the Crows facy given our long lay off like you boys. Still not sure how that equates to hating the club. It was at afl.com suggest you read the article.

Mitch McGovern is a different deal to Bryce Gibbs

Might want to read afl.com the Crows confirmed they rate him highly and contrary to the authors comments he is still training with the Crows – that doesn’t read dislike in my opinion. Face it Carlton if you want him you will pay the crows price doesn’t really get any simplier.

Mitch McGovern is a different deal to Bryce Gibbs

The Crows might realise that getting Rozee, Valente or Hately will fill their needs however totally agree with what u r saying add in Shiel, Neale, Gaff, Hogan, Lynch and Lobb and this will be a very interesting trade period lets hope

Not sure reasonable comes into it when you are under contract. We paid overs for Gibbs didn’t get that much for Dangerfield who won a Brownlow not long after, he however was a good servant to the club and left with our best wishes. McGovern however has no such hold on the Crows and a player who reportedly hates the Crows yet went to the B&F is interesting given what the author wrote. Face it Carlton will pay overs which I think will happen in the end as your coach is desperate to retain his job and needs a big name – suggest your first round next year maybe in the Crows sights, who will ontrade with other picks to GC.

Agree the calls for the first pick would never be entertained however picks 24 & 25 will soon be 27 and 28 if the FA all go ahead as rumoured. Therefore the issue for Carlton is to turn those into a pick between 10-15 I wish them luck with that in this draft, unless a team like Sydney wants points. Not sure if they are going to get Shiel either to get pick 14. McGovern has never stated that he will sit out those two years that is Carlton hoping, given the issues Crows have had with retention maybe they should draw a hard line here, pretty sure McGovern will want to partake in a team that will be in the 8 next year. Therefore the ball is in Carlton’s court pay overs, maybe your first round selection next year?

Certainly makes sense about your midfield, Cripps will be destroyed if he continues to one man it. However it must be remembered the Crows are not shopping McGovern they will keep him and he was happy until Carlton offered him around 200k more. He would not want to be in the SANFL for two years, other players in the past have stayed on with their club when deals fall through so will McGovern. The Crows have had their issues this year but will be a lot closer to the finals then Carlton next year and McGovern will be part of that a as a swingman. Best of luck with Shiels a monster offer may get him – however I agree with the article – it will be interesting to see if he will go to a club that is on realistically a 3-5 year rebuild.

A club-by-club guide to the 2018 AFL trade period

Mitch is still contracted Carlton has offered him reportedly 800k that will make him one of your highest paid. Pretty sure u boys would want to get the deal done so forget the unders you guys will pay what is required or not. The Crows can drive a hard bargin as was shown with the Lever. He will probably be the only big name you get this year as not sure that Shiel would want to go to Carlton given its results over the last two years unless serious coin is involved. Suggest he will go to the Hawks.

Totally agree it is laughable when you make selection decisions to bottom out and then seek compensation. It seems that early compensation picks are a thing of the past since the Melb debacle. Not sure how they are going to get the McGovern deal done now.
