It’s an interesting one to me, I am fully on board with players chasing more contract based financial security – this isn’t the NBA or soccer when a couple of pro-level contracts can set you up for life – however I mainly wanted to challenge the stigma that seems to exist of questioning contracts that are objectively questionable. I suspect that one day the vehicle for doing so will be based on yearly salary (when such info is released to the public) rather than length, but til then, this is the lens I can operate through
