Hird is the guilty party, he was in charge and the buck stops with him, he brought in Dank,Robinson and Charters he should have a lifetime ban from entering a sporting environment. That said, i do believe the whole outcome has been controlled right from the start, the AFL knew Essendon were guilty but could not afford a 17 team competition or to punish 34 players at once as the competition would have been compromised and third party agreements such as the tv rights and sports betting torn up, having it drag out for 3 years has minimised the effects so that only 12 players are still at Essendon and only 17 in the competition. Esseandon and Hird have been made out to be the bad guys here and rightly so but its better than having them kicked out of the AFL. They may be able to win the odd game much like GWS and the Suns in their first years, people still watched and bet on their games. It will be a long rebuild but it will be better than a 17 team competition.

Hird laments loss of trust in doping saga

With the restructuring of the ICC to give India, Australia and England all the power and India all of the money this was always going to happen. The West Indies are only the first of many countries to fall, with no money being distributed to the struggling countries [ because the all powerful BCCI wanting it all for themselves ] the minnows of the cricket world will all slowly die. Indian cricket has never thought about the big picture, they are what i call a gen Y nation they want everything for themselves and they want it now and stuff who they hurt in the process. Well without these minnow countries all cricket will suffer and all that will be left is The Ashes, which will continue because after all it is the only trophy worth winning in cricket and the IPL which will be a competition full of Indian cricketers and retired Aussies and Poms. P.S; Well good luck to the BCCI hope your happy with ruining one of the truly wonderful and exciting of teams of world cricket.

Windies cricket sinks to new levels

Problem with the COLA is it is there to offset the higher cost of living in Sydney, but it doesn’t cost Buddy and Tippet an $60000 a year to live than it does for say Gary Rohan who would get about $25000 in COLA payments. COLA should only be paid to players earning less than $300000 a year and then nobody would have a problem with it, but it needs to be applied across the board to all states, so if it ends up costing more to live in Melbourne than Sydney in 3yrs all Victorian clubs should recieve it and not the NSW clubs, fairs fair

Is the AFL out of touch with NSW and Queensland?

Removing someone from an environment were they are unhappy and placing them in one were they can be happy can only benefit the individual, Ryan Griffen’s football and mental wellbeing will suffer next year.

Beams to join Lions, Griffen in AFL limbo

Forcing a player to do something they dont want to do could end up affecting their mental health, surely we dont need another situation like what happened with Mitch Clark last year, let Boyd and Griffen swap clubs and stop acting like spoilt children.

ABSOLUTELY Aransan

Brendan McCartney: Another AFL coach falls to player power

Coaches grow into their roles much like players and therefor need to be given time and resources to develop. If by your thinking, Mark Thompson would never have won a premiership. Players need the power they think they have removed ASAP before the smartest people in football “the coaches” leave the game in droves. Players like Ryan Griffen dont know anything more than how to kick a ball, they will never be a coaches because they iaren’t smart enough or tough enough. I’ve heard managers say this week that clubs don’t own players well i think they should clubs should be allowed to trade players to whoever they like to get their list into a better position. Players are only a small part of football most only last 4 to 5 years some clubs have been here for over 100 years players need to learn their place in football and be thankful they even got the chance to play. As the great Joe Hockey said “this is not the age of entitlement”.

Brendan McCartney: Another AFL coach falls to player power

You obviously haven’t thought to hard about this, there has been talk of the western bulldogs getting picks 4 & 7 for griffen why would they accept less as you suggest. never going to happen ever

The ultimate AFL merry-go-round trade

Peter Gordon needs to resign ASAP simple as that, not fit to be president of the club. Supporters of the Western Bulldogs are sick of being seen as battlers they want to support a power club, and they deserve it. Gordon is lawyer that helps battlers beat the golaiths of the world but he will never be seen as a businessman or power broker, change is needed at the top for anything to change lower down. Stop being the battler

Dogs brandish carrot and stick to stop Griffen's exit

The AFL needs to adopt a system were clubs have the power to trade players to whichever club offers the best deal for the club not the other way around, because its the clubs that need to survive not the players. These so called modern day are soft and very selfish much like the teens and twenty somethings of society they are the now generation of expectation.

Free Agency: whose game is it anyway?

I’ve been a Bulldogs supporter all my 48 years, well no more. The club have given me more than enough reasons to change to another team before, but this time i am. Certain players have been told the hard truth over the past 6 mths and have taken easy way out by saying they cant communicate with the coach, when in actual fact the truth about their own ability as players and people was questioned they failed. Ryan Griffen must go as he wants to leave he is not a club man as we all thought as for all the other players in jones and tutt you to can f*** off you were only mediocre anyway.

Western Bulldogs losing Griffen would be a disaster for the club

P.S. Jason Tutt also managed by ESP is another who wants to leave, can’t imagine his end of season review went well either, and how about that GWS coach Leon Cameron also with ESP

Griffen shocks Bulldogs with trade request

Peter Gordon needs to be removed again[remember last time] he is not a business man he is a lawyer the board need to get rid of him now. Stupid knee jerk reactoin with that statement why not get everything you possibly can for eg: players and draft picks, go for the jugular and then some

Week 2 of Trades Begins – 2014 AFL Trade and Free Agency period updates

Is it a coincidence that both Griffen and Jones both managed by same company ESP. Maybe they dont like their boys hearing the truth about were the’re at as players. They need to be told Harden up Princess!

Griffen shocks Bulldogs with trade request

Hi josh can you please explain the difference between the so called compensation for Shaun Higgins and James Frawley. Both were first round draft picks, both are 26 and both just signed good contracts for 4 years plus. Frawley is no Ablett or Franklin and yet Melbourne get pick 3 and the Doggies only get pick 27, do the AFL feel sorry Melbourne?
