Good to get a shocker once in a while. Keeps the batsmen honest.

Why is Cummins’ captaincy so crucial? Just rest him for the final test. He needs it, clearly. Or are my eyes deceiving me? Smith can step in. It’s not like he hasn’t done it before. Just be practical.

Ashes Fifth Test teams: Better late than Neser, Murphy in the mix, Warner looks safe again, Anderson under pressure

My NSW team for Game 3: Gutho, To’o, Tago, Crichton, Johnston, Luai, Hynes, D Saifiti, Cook, RCG, Martin, Talakai, Yeoh; J Hetherington, Leniu, Murray, Barnett.

Mitch Barnett, Jack Hetherington and Isaac Tago would’ve been the guys I wanted to see given a go in the dead rubber.

Agree 100%. Trash coach, average commentator and consensus great player.

None of this matters if the coach is the problem.

'Classic indicators of failed coaching': Thorn is finished, so here's what should happen next for the Reds

Queensland rugby (the Reds) will rise again. It just won’t get there as soon as you’d like it to. And 10 years is a lot of water under the bridge. They should ask Link to come back. He might surprise a lot of people with his response.

Thankfully the decision is not in your hands. I’m sure cooler heads will prevail here when weighing up the facts and what is the appropriate sanction for this kind of behaviour. Nick, I respect your view, but do not agree with it. One of us will be vindicated soon enough.

I think a one year ban is sufficient for the crime. A lifetime ban is over the top. You must be terrified of this kind of thing. I may have falsely equivocated, granted, but get real. Racial abuse is bad but I reckon there’s worse things in life than having a bit of verbal thrown your way. When did people get so hyper-sensitive? Also, keep things in perspective when passing judgement on such acts and perpetrators. The kid is a 14-year-old, I think you’re being way too harsh and have unrealistic expectations on him. How many 14-year-olds act maturely (consistently) and can make the best decision in every instance without the guidance of an adult or leadership from an older person? A very small minority, I would hazard. The punishment should fit the crime. Banning for life him would be a vindictive response to a societal problem. Ban him for a period (1 year), educate him about his actions and let him own it and let’s all move on.

This is overkill. A lifetime ban for is ridiculous. He didn’t burn the stadium down or kill anyone. He said something offensive that had racial undertones. Ok, that in and of itself is abhorrent and he should be sanctioned of course, but for life? Get a grip, people.

I like Tszyu by late stoppage. Harrison has a tendency to fade in the back half of big fights. In terms of skills and experience against elite level opposition, Harrison is the better man but he’s old and a little shopworn at this stage. I think Harrison will be leading on two of the judges’ cards when Tszyu’s effective body punching finally takes its toll somewhere between the 9th and 12th rounds. It’s been a great ride for Harrison but he’s peaked already and he’s also beaten The Man, so this is all gravy. Harrison is a great scalp for Tszyu to add to his resume, though. Harrison is a high class gatekeeper at 154lb IMHO. Harrison (after his fights with Charlo) reminds me of crafty and gutsy welterweight Carlos Quintana who famously came from nowhere to decision then beltholder and physically imposing Paul Williams back in the early 2000s, only to get wiped out in one round in the rematch!

Tim Tszyu isn’t a world champion - but he needs to avoid George Kambosos’ mistake of thinking that this fight is a homecoming

I believe the best hitters were the best timers and I reckon Matai had his radar and internal clock set to a T. Peter Ryan was brutal as was Carrol for the Broncos. Nigel Plum had natural ability, a real knack, and De Belin is made from that same DNA. Morley surprised me with his toughness and ability to whack a lot of top shelf guys. Haumono was a killer. But my favourite hitmen are from the 90s era, David Gillespie, Trevor Gillmeister and the best of them, in my view, Peter Johnston.

25 in 25: Who's heaviest hitter of NRL era - Morley, Matai, SBW, Taufua, Radley, Plum, Burgess?

Let SBW fight Gallen. If this fight was any indication Aussie fight fans will still pack out the arena. Sonny is athletic and has some power but Gallen is tougher than an iron brick so it should be a good match up. If Justice Huni could get Gallen out of there until very late I don’t think SBW will fare any better. Trust me Gal is teak tough and he would definitely get his licks in.
