Disgruntled rugby fan who would love to see someone with modern vision for sport entertainment drive the game back to glory.

And his performances now with real game time suggest what about that coaches decision making?

Do you think the choice to put pocock at 8 was because he was worse than Hooper?

Have you kept up with Australian rugby decision making.

Did Vunivalu deserve to go on the Australia A tour? Why was Teddy on that tour before 9s who had actually played super rugby?

My comments are about muddied decision making and lack of vision for players who actually have talent in Aus rugby. I don’t have time to list the 8000 examples of this.

Do you think any of those names have produced anything close to what Hansen has for Ireland?

Does starting Vs finishing mean they’re the lesser player? Why do SA call their reserves the bomb squad? Do you have genuine insight that Hardwick was “benched”.

'Shake up this comp': Fearless Rebels punish 'loose' Waratahs in huge upset as Hardwick, Gordon shine

People are talking about a player who was benched and not given chances suddenly coming into form when he’s given a chance. Obviously Aus rugby don’t move players around into teams when there’s an opportunity, that would be too intelligent. Better to let them know they’re not in their plans and then wait for kiwi loosies to be eligible for Australia.

I think the frustration is more a lack of vision and support for some previous junior wallabies Vs hype, rushing to first grade and constant forgiveness for poor games for others.

Hardwick is 28 so this is a pre-Rennie issue.

Being disappointed while watching Mack Hansen go well for Ireland isn’t revisionism. It’s just head scratching at the pathways and vision of those who are supporting the next gen.

I get there is a lot of competition for positions but they rarely give anyone a crack. Hooper is the David Warner of rugby.

I think I made a comment last year that it would be very Australian rugby if all the hype about tahs, their young tens and Coleman coaching the Aus A in 2022 would be followed up by a poor 2023 only for them to feature heavily in the wallabies again.

One win against a kiwi team and all will be forgiven.

Hardwick has pledged to a different nation, hasn’t he? Yep, sounds like Aus rugby.

Did Johnny Hill ever get anything from the judiciary for pulling hair or pushing Swain’s face? I don’t think he was cited.

Things like that should cop the amount of coverage we’re seeing over this throat slit nonsense. It’s a lottery with the judiciary (super or international).

Confirmed: Savea banned by Super Rugby Judiciary for throat-slit gesture

The western force seem to have a new team every year. They had to bring back a retired guy to fill the team. The reds are full of junior wallabies and current wallabies who have played for the same team for a few seasons. The Force are capable of good but they’re also capable of getting pumped.

Moments have context too

'Car crash': Thorn's Reds rack up highest Super score against Force as Lynagh, Petaia star

I’m a reds fan and I’m reserving comment until after they’ve played all kiwi teams because we’ve been here before.

Playground tough guy move that looks pretty lame.

I think being an adult and knowing there’s video out there of you making a gesture like that is punishment enough. Something for your mates to bring out at your 50th and laugh.

It’s noted that Craig Bellamy trained Suli in Suli’s preferable way. And I believe he was great in RL and had few injuries.

Could be an excuse or could be a pro knowing their limits or preferred preparation.

'I struggled mentally - I've never been that guy': Suli blames Rennie's demands for failure to launch as a Wallaby

At the chiefs and Glasgow the brief probably wasn’t “Get them to All Black level in a year”.

At the chiefs most already were.

Good coaches, managers and leaders know how to use individual methods to get the best of our players which equal the result as a team.

Dennis Rodman and Gary Abblett Sr. are two names that spring to mind as examples where coaches had to adapt to their personality and methods to get the best out of them. “Do as I say” superficial toughness from coaches does very little but breed contempt.

Yep. I love teams in rugby league that don’t lapse in defense at the ruck allowing a sneaky forward to pick and go through a gap.

CONFIRMED: Eddie turns to ex-NRL star for World Cup in risky first Wallabies coaching appointment

From a resourcing process point of view, how does a guy with “kicking coach at Sale” as his only rugby experience get a look in at top jobs in England rugby and Australian rugby?

Being coached by rugby league greats is hardly a killer résumé item. That means there are 100s of potentially wallaby coaches based on these league experience.

I wish nothing but the best for Brett and the wallabies but I am tired of seeing things like a number 7 playing 8 and an ex rugby league player as a defence coach. Feels like trying to fix things by over complicating them.

The tahs looked like the wallabies when they play forwards in alternative positions. Looks like they are thinking too much rather than playing. I really hope Eddie just picks good players in their positions.

Even though a couple of his kicks were off, Debreczni kicking game was purposeful and I think a key difference between the teams. Too often in past seasons I’ve seen kicking become the thing you do when you can’t break defence rather than something done when an opportunity presents itself.

'Humble pie': Larkham's Brumbies spoil Waratahs party as young guns shine on Super Rugby debuts

Decision makers wanted Head out first test because he can’t play spin.

He moves his feet and plays it well.

Everyone else – “sweep shot with my eyes closed”

This is the Australian cricket team FFS.

'Soft, reckless, way over the edge': Greats savage sweep-happy Aussies' disaster, Warner's unlucky break - Talking Points

This team seems like a gatekeepey cliquey highschool culture some times. Never saying anything bad to anyone’s face or at a conference and the talk bad behind their backs and in biographies.

There doesn’t seem to be a solid succession plan other than throw some inexperienced players in the deep end. It only seems to justify keeping dead wood like Warner when the young person doesn’t perform.

The player power nonsense is killing Australian cricket. No one should be above the baggy green.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Murphy is dropped because Lyon didn’t like how he made him look sub-par.

Spin bolter a 'live chance' to play, Head set to replace Warner as Cummins defends controversial selections

Looks a bit weak to be passing the buck this early.

Players can adapt to game plans, kicking strategies etc. They play all season against new opponents each week.

Choosing Farrell and Marcus Smith even though Eddie was constantly slammed for this was surprising. You’re going to do better than him by not rectifying his selections and then blame him? Probably injuries in the channel or fear of big changes.

Scotland have good players. I like watching them. Don’t think losing to them is that much of a surprise.

The English players look stressed and exhausted when things don’t go to plan. The mental fatigue of losing a world cup you’re meant to win, the pressure of UK press and fan expectation and then Eddie’s standards for all those years. I’d be rooted and not interested.

Rugby News: Clive please... Pom blames Eddie AGAIN after 6N flop, ABs set lunch date with WBs, Fiji Drua ace axed

Australian Rugby news reminds of how people talk about the royal family in the press.

The royals have been a dysfunctional rabble for years, no matter who the players are. People talk of “the firm” that pull the strings. Senior members who are responsible for the cause but are unseen when time to discuss the effect.

Who are the firm in Australian rugby? Why do we always see the same dysfunctional outcome no matter who the coaches are? No matter who the CEO is?

Their motto seems to be “dysfunction is ok as long we’re in control”

ANALYSIS: Why Eddie was sacked by England, and what he must change to succeed this time around

A big shrug of the shoulders.

ANALYSIS: In just 30 minutes Eddie Jones managed what Castle and Rennie couldn't in three years

Definitely more interesting.

Hopefully Eddie is consistent with assistant coaches, selections and victories.

The damage of more let down at this point could be huge. We don’t need any more “we’re building” rhetoric while a coach with too much power plays 4D chess. He’s been sold as the saviour, so save.

ANALYSIS: Why Eddie was sacked by England, and what he must change to succeed this time around

Good analysis, Nicholas.

For me, I’m at that point where I’ve seen the TV ad for a circus coming to town 50 times but it’s opening date is months away.

We’ll see if they can get the lion to jump through the ring of fire or if they burn down the tent.

One thing I liked about Rennie is that he seemed to keep the pressure off players, particularly in the media. I’m not sure the impact of Eddie’s PR act is good for a team like the wallabies considering where they are at.

More pressure, the threat of being “flogged” etc. Feels like old school hot air.

As I said, we’ll have to wait to game time.
