batting at 7 would give Wade the nod as he rarely gets bogged down like Inglis can.

Back-up quicks strangle Black Caps in timely World Cup reminder as Aussies clinch series sweep in 10-over shootout

Short is a far better player then Stoinis, but IPL form will play a role and don’t believe Short has a IPL contract. Hard to believe as would have been a bargain. May still get drafted in as a injury replacement.

agree it was a terrible example. especially when the batting to come was super thin. Retiring Inglis would have been a much better example as if he had stayed in for another over Australia lose that match.

It's not against the rules, but it's highly suspect... Will 'tactical' batter retirements be T20 cricket's next big thing?

Swap Inglis and Short. Short is a superior bat.

never has there been so much hype and so little delivered by a marque game. History shows what a dud of a game its been.

Is Opening Round actually a good idea by the AFL after all?

that would be good, much better then all the fake hype around Rich v Carlton. The worst marque game on the calendar.

Is Opening Round actually a good idea by the AFL after all?

I think opening round with 4 matches played in Brisbane and Sydney is a good idea. Nearly all marque matches have been reserved for Victorian teams, Adelaide now has gather round. I think putting spotlight on northern states for opening round is good.

on form he has it all over Fraser-McGurk.

Warner gets up off canvas but denied fairytale farewell as Dre Russ power lifts Windies to upset win over Aussies

Matt Short had the most dominant BBL. Should be in the starting XI, gun fielder as well.

was ready to write Tim David off. But has found some form. Tough spot to bat in T20.

He was definitely MVP. When the game was on the line he won it for the Chiefs,. Several runs to get first down when under the pump and a TD pass to win it. No one else had such an impact. Agree was tense but lots of skill errors and lots of missed opportunities meant it wasn’t a great game.

Go ahead with the replay. But change rule so that no appeals allowed after a replay. That way home broadcaster can’t influence a decision. And if players do keep :”appealing for everything ” they will get in trouble as its against the code of conduct to appeal when there isn’t a valid reason. Thats why its silly. you simply can’t keep appealing for every thing.

'One of those weird rules': Why run-out was not given despite Windies batter well short of his crease

Lol. Wait wait, appeal…

'One of those weird rules': Why run-out was not given despite Windies batter well short of his crease

video clearly shows umpire looking around to see if there is an appeal.

'One of those weird rules': Why run-out was not given despite Windies batter well short of his crease

yeah nah. Players can get fined for excessive appeals. Thats a silly suggestion.

'One of those weird rules': Why run-out was not given despite Windies batter well short of his crease

Honestly if players can’t accept the ruling and want to carry on, I’m more then happy for an umpire to set them straight. If Marsh wants to stamp his leadership on the team and not just be one of the boys, then that is a situation to stand up in.

'One of those weird rules': Why run-out was not given despite Windies batter well short of his crease

that rule has to be changed, can be manipulated by home broadcaster to only benefit one team by delaying replays. In the spirit of the game (morally) the umpire was correct.

'One of those weird rules': Why run-out was not given despite Windies batter well short of his crease

was at the ground last night and no one thought it was out as no players appealed.

'One of those weird rules': Why run-out was not given despite Windies batter well short of his crease

What did you want him to do???? Marsh didn’t have control of his players and umpire had to set them straight. Maybe the players should have asked why Marsh didn’t appeal as was in perfect position at mid off in line with the wickets.

'One of those weird rules': Why run-out was not given despite Windies batter well short of his crease

In the replay you can see Abood looking around for an appeal. He clearly looks to Marsh as Captain who was at mid off and several other fielding positions. I was at the game and no one thought it was out as there was no appeal. What more do you expect?

what no Lloyd Pope. Selectors are crazy..

Allrounder XI. Batsmen need to be good enough to bowl in a test (ie Short, Head, Manus and Maxwell) and bowlers be good enough bat to be selected at 7/8.

Have used fairly loose definition of an all rounder but have selected a team on basis that would get a bowl in a test match (ie Manus, Head, Short) and can bat no lower then 8

Can’t rely on India. This is the same county that plays silly games granting visas. England and Australia need to step up and and pay some of the cost when sides like WI, Pakistan and even SA tour. This is one way to keep best players from those countries involved in test cricket.
