This seems very hyperbolic. Decided to recover without surgery the first time and still manage to have a successful summer, winning the Scorchers player of the year and finding himself back in the Australian squad for the tour of SA.
With COVID happening, it seemed the logical time to have surgery and tighten everything up to allow him to get his fielding back to what it was.
Currently back bowling and will have a few months under his belt by the time Big Bash rolls around.
