A rugby game isn't a matter of life or death. It's much more important than that.

RA actually isn’t mean to be developing rugby at all levels. That’s what the state unions are for.

If Maguire is picking his Blues team on 'character', here's who is in - and who he should avoid at all costs
People just say stuff like “caught up in his own talent and importance” and decide it’s a fact.
The guy is a gun. He has a discipline issue. And he only works as hard as he has to. But because he’s naturally a gun, that’s enough to make him a gun footballer.
QLD absolutely would pick him. Discipline issue would be the only concern.

Really? The Tahs spent so far under the cap that it was against the CBA.
Despite that the team looked promising in 2020. Just struggled in 2021 with Gordon and Hooper out.
Waratahs set to lose two up-and-comers ahead of Suaalii's arrival as NSW Rugby announce $4.8m loss
There was definitely talk. I think before the Rabbitohs signed him and then when Easts did.

But with a stacked back 3 won’t they need low priced midfielders? Such as Harry Wilson?

Yeah exactly.
RA can’t afford to tip extra money into the rebels, but they need to be trying to make 5 teams work where there are investors.
Use it to try and squeeze a few extra million out of World Cup games, etc.

What does that say about the teams the Rebels have beaten then?
What about the many seasons the Rebels finished higher than the Reds or the Tahs in their existence?

Nah. That’s a tackle all would make.
It was effort but an easy tackle to executed.
Carter is better at taking down big fellas. That’s where he makes tackles the others would miss. Where he’s worse is where they try and run around him. His defensive reads can be a weakness.
The five Aussie young guns who should be celebrated - and the one who is ready for the Wallabies
I reckon it’s more a case that some games are a step down and there’s more of them.
Some would be to notch depending on opponent

I don’t believe training intensity would be nearly as high in season.
In test rugby for example, there will only be one substantial session on game week once you factor recovery from last game and tapering to be fresh for the game.

Yeah sure. He’s spot on if you ignore that time of each of the incidents they had played similar amount of NRL as some of the best forwards today at the same age…
Perrett is saying the incident impacted him kicking on his career from that age.
Topine is not even 23 yet and has been in the NRL for 3 seasons – and that excludes this year. Many of the best forwards hadn’t played 16 games before their 22nd birthday.

Very likely the Titmuss inquest

It’s coaches that demand that.
Fans don’t want it all as fatigue creates mismatches, etc and unknowns.
Coaches don’t want that. They want certainty.

Graham’s views are out of touch with modern society. But he also hasn’t played NRL since 2020. The game is even faster than his experience he talks about.
Some of this though is of the NRL’s own making.
While CTE is a concern for older players it’s an even greater concern today because years of rule tweaks in pursuit of “speeding up the game” have made it higher risk than ever. I suspect the risk of CTE grew significantly from the unlimited interchange era and the move to impact players being so common. Rule changes have further impacted it also. Had NRL stayed closer to early to mid-90s NSWRL/ARL with less interchange and slower but still gladiatorial game, I feel the risks would be lower today.

What was Topine about to be released for?
Crazy before this he was apparently about to be on the NRL scrap heap at 21, an age many haven’t even debuted yet…

Actually they’ll probably make it without accumulating another competition point.
They are 10 points ahead of 9th.
The Crusaders most likely to make a charge need to accumulate 13 points in the next 5 rounds to overtake the rebels and play the Reds, Highlanders, Blues and Brumbies.
Highlanders will probably struggle to get to 24 points.
MP play both meaning some wins will be traded. Likely only one of Highlanders or Crusaders make it.
