Peeko I think we shall see a great version of the Cox Plate this year and I dont think it’ll be a full field maybe with only 11 in it.

Weight for age ranks changing for better

It was a great ride by Craig Williams Alfred.
Still a good day I might add just not a great race

Weight for age ranks changing for better

Should make the Rosey’s Roughie Sanagas

Ranvet, Coolmore and Canterbury Stakes at Rosehill Preview

Couldnt agree more Justin , The IFHA has hit the nail on the head that it wasnt very strong WFA wise plenty of Group 1 winners but no champions and a couple horses in it were already past their best.

Weight for age ranks changing for better

True Pinker Pinker could have been a star , Though Jimmy Choux was beaten convincingly in the Queen Elizabeth last year.
Lion Tamer was a freakishly good horse , It was a real shame that he had depart when at his best could have been anything.

Weight for age ranks changing for better

Good Preview Cam.
Tend to agree with you on the Ranvet but I think Manighar can run 2nd.
Of the other races thought Bennetta looked nicely weighted in the Coolmoore and Bossy is in hot form so only a bonus.
Sanagas gets his chance in the Sky High Stakes.
Canterbury Stakes is a cracking race and I think More Joyous should beat Pierro in a close one with Rain Affair holding on for 3rd.
But my best bet comes at Edenhope in the Apsley Cup , Gottino has won 4 cups at his last 5 starts good luck to Ken Moore and the Team.

Great Article again Alfred.
I tend to agree that she is no champion but its not neccesarily of any fault of her own , the way they planned the assualts on the Cox Plate were strange and she has never gone outside Sydney or Melbourne surely a race like the Doomben 10,000 or Stradbroke would have suited her.
She would have been ideal to sned over for a Hong Kong Mile to being Sydney way and 1600m WFA.
If she beat BC though in the All-Aged and beats Pierro on Saturday things could be alot different plus she could go on another season.

More Joyous will not be remembered as a champion

Good Article Alfred
Tend to agree with your comment on Bjorn Baker and Ocean Park as well as Vatuvei but I think Pierro will keep going and travel overseas getting sold to Coolmoore and Nash Rawiller will come back to Melbourne where he will ride in top form.

Five bold predictions for the autumn carnival‏

It’s A Dundeel should only have lost one race not 3 if he ridden better by James McDonald in Melbourne he shoudl of won both races.
Serious racehorse who will feature in what ever set for,

Nice Article Andrew.
I’d have to say her 2012 Lightning win would rate right up there.
She backed up in 7 days went down 400m and Meet Hay List and Buffering at the top of their game.
They ran one of the quickest 800-600m splits ever from Memory something like 10.2 and she had to fight for the win it might not have been the most dominant but it was definetely one of her most courageous wins.

Black Caviar's five greatest wins

Good Read Andrew
I tend to disagree with you on this one , I think the racing structure is fine as it is and don’t need to tinker with too many races at all especially races like QSLD Derby, Oaks and SA Derby , Oaks.
Maybe we could move one or two more of the lesser group days in melbourne from Caulfield or Rosehill to say Bendigo or Mornington and Canterbury or Canberra, So that the group 1s have a bit more meaning.
Like Hill Stakes Day and
J.J Liston Stakes as well as Maybe one of the start days of the Sydney Carnival like the last 2 weeks when at the Farm and maybe run the Futurity Stakes at Mornington on Cup day to eliminate 3 group 1’s at Caulfield at WFA 1400m.
And also have the Mornington Cup pushed back to March 23 or 24 and have it after the Bendgo Raceday .
It would make sense if they ran a group 1 at the Nation’s Capital wouldnt it?

Too many Group races spoiling Australian racing

Good Tips, Couldnt Agree more with all 3 especially the roughie Gossip Girl very well placed in the last.
Wanted to know your thoughts on All Too Hard in the George Main Stakes , Many have jumped off im not thoroughly convinced that he is just another exciting 2 year old who just couldnt the handle group class afterwards , I think with 50.5kg and a rider change up to the mile at Randwick he could be great value at around $8. I know the race is full of Seasoned campaigners e.g Rangi, Shoot Out, Danleigh, Yosei, Secret Admirer but Imo none of them are exactly over the line Shoot Out 1st up query?, Rangirangdoo dont no if his best form is now at a mile aging , Danleigh been beating stayers in the Chelmsford Stakes, Secret Admirer being set for a Caulfield Cup, Yosei isnt proven at WFA , Somepin Anypin bit the same, Quintessential probably cant win lacks the turn of foot for a mile. Now i know All Too Hard has been Utterly Disapointing lately but I think ridden a bit closer and up to the Mile we could see the Horse that could still be a Cox Plate winner. As you can see I am overly confident that he will Just win , plus 3 year old’s in WFA races in early spring in Sydney isnt something were not used to e.g Trusting-Warwick Stakes 2009, Viscount-George Main 2001 and last year Strike The Stares-3rd Chelmsford Stakes.

Long paragraph but I would really like to know your thoughts as to if you can win and why? or why not?
Cheers, Cam

Underwood Stakes day: tips and preview

Forgive Mawingo he just put in a shocker and had circumstances for it e.g Poor Ride, Different Tactics , Blinkers , 1st Up next time he’ll be back better.
Fawkner is an intresting one only in March he got beat in a 0-89 2040m easily , He was the most impressive winner on Saturday , I hope he heads to the Dato Tan on Saturday should be a good guide to see where his at , Might just be another Niblick.

I Agree with Cam , why would Sincero not be in the Dato Tan seems an ideal lead-up race for Cox Plate , You wouldnt think he would nt think he would run in The Underwood Stakes 2nd Up maybe Sir Rupert Clarke then Toorak before Cox Plate as he was burnt out by the time he got to Melbourne last Spring after 4 runs over there and a long winter preparation, Farley and owners may just think hes best fresh.

Spring stars emerge on revealing Makybe Diva Day

Stralia , Excluded follow those 2 for the spring and how good was Moudre 18 months off was never proven at WFA , yet ran out of his skin and with luck could have made the finish a 3 way go one of the best Australian Stayers with a real chance come Cups time.
Strawberry Boy was also very good if he can win Kingstown Stakes on Saturday he could be the Real Deal and be the horse of the Spring.
EXCITING TIMES AHEAD

Spring stars emerge on revealing Makybe Diva Day

Bailey should not go he has done Victorian Racing good , he just shouldnt deal with Nikolic.
Nikolic has already lost his reputation as a rider and many others are soon to be exposed, Neverthless one of the most Intresting cases in racing.
Hopefully Bailey doesnt go he is only been fixing a wreck that he was left with.

Nikolic versus Bailey, but one of them has to go

Intesting that Llyod didnt engage Seville in the Makybe Diva he’s a stayer I reckon going places, Efficient is an out and out champ might be in for his best spring yet I just hope he doesnt go amiss after 2 runs in.
That 2000m race does always through out a nice horse for the spring , I reckon it could be Exceptionally yes she’s been there before but she has had numerous bad rides and hit dry tracks (something she does not like) or Sea Galleon genuine stayer who could just be the smokey in the Cups if he gets there got a good turn of foot.
Of the others Dominant in R2 is a nice 3yo heading towards the Guineas or Derby, Illo the german horse in R3 only beaten 4 lengths by BC last time first up, R4 Zurella the kiwi mare will be hitting the line hard wait till she gets up past 2000+ , R5 Stralia the 3yo who could be competitive in the Guineas, R6 Mawingo was explosive last time first up expect similar, R7 Smokin’ Joey will be aimed at the Sir Rupert Clarke and Toorak will be competitive 1st Up, R8 Sea Galleon already touched on before.

Cpt Sensible Pinwheel is a gelding at cant stay past 1500m.

Makybe Diva Day to give a sneak peak of spring ahead

Good tip Rosey, lady Of Harrods too good

Horse racing: Memsie Stakes Day - tips and preview

The memsie stakes lacks the depth it has in previous years , Luckygray is a good horse but I think the mile handicaps will be he’s go not a WFA horse, Mr O’Ceirin is a nice each way in the Slickpix Stakes geniune galloper heading in the right direction very similar to his stablemate Moudre in terms of X-Factor and Peal Of Bells in the Premier’s Cup seems a changed horse.
Have to say though that Happy Trials is outstanding value at $12 beat Southern Speed first up who would give the memsie a real shake, I think he’s gotta be the best e/w bet all day.
