That Wayne Barnes incident is being reported on differently in SA. According to reports I read he said “I’m sorry but I didn’t see it that way” instead of apologising for getting it wrong he was being polite. I have not looked at the incident, I’m just saying there’s more than one take on that incident.

Thank you NZ for pitching up and you nearly won the whole game. This is the final we wanted in SA and I for one didn’t want Sam Cane to receive red because I didn’t want that to dominate the narrative afterwards. Here we are though.

You need only have kicked your conversion and you would have won.

The World Cup Wrap: France 2023 got a final befitting the host nation - imperfect, baffling and historic

Yeah, they are all rooinekke or soutpielle. Same way we are “jaapies” or “dutchmen”.

Were you there to confirm exactly when this happened? Did you hear it? Tell us more.

All of this is rich comimg from the English of all people.
Thanks though. It ensures the Boks will always rise to the occasion against the rooinekke.

Here’s my take. The English celebrate like fools for each opposition knock or mistake even when they didn’t force a mistake. So when the chance comes to rub it in back to them some players will take it.

What is the problem with calling a white person white?

We can condemn them but the majority of SAns are not sending death threats. There are bad apples.

Generally, we are bemused as it wouldn’t make sense for him to make a racial slur while his teammates are also white. If you can even say calling a white person white is a racial slur.

Yeah, Reinach and his family were also threatened after the game against France, and he is in France.

The real question is this. What is wrong with calling someone white?

Kicking up a fuss? We’re having a laugh. Our interwebs is full of memes and Bok jerseys stating “I am on the Springboks’ Kant” etc.

South Africans have a much more powerful expression than the c word that starts with a p.

Life is not fair. Why should professional sports at the highest level be?
Why stop there then? Might as well cap the height of basketball players.

Cynical how?

Like Farrel kicking a ball while lying on the ground cynical or…?

You cannot say “SA think that is what rugby is”.

They didn’t play this way last week. Conditions didn’t allow for it and Eng were on top with their forwards for most of the game.

Can’t always be a grand spectacle.

The feeling amongst the local support during the game was that changes should have been made for this game to have a fresher and hungrier team after last week’s physical and mental hurdle.

'It's not for the ego': Boks coach defends 'brave, ruthless' sacrifice of No.10 that decided semifinal

Timely wakeup call Boks. That was a bad performance but you managed to win again, somehow.
The last two weeks have not been good for South African hearts.

I second this suggestion as a South African. He did really well with Connacht which is Ireland’s smallest club.

Also ticks the box of having that foreign experience and that within a world class Irish setup.

Lots of transferrable IP. Remember Mack Hansen plays for Connacht eh. So too Bundee Aki.

According to Opta, the Boks scored three tries against the French in the first half with 99 seconds in French territory.

Here’s something for you. England are the only unbeaten side left.

'Heartbroken': Springboks knock France out of RWC in dramatic, controversial QF as 'key moment' highlighted

The Boks were very clinical with very very little ball and field position in that first half.
Kolbe’s charge-down is the difference in the end between winning and losing.
Hope the Boks have enough in the tank for an English side coming in under the radar.
Any side that wins the trophy always has some luck somewhere along the way. Eben incident jumps to mind.

If anything, and as another Irish supporter told me on R365, Ireland were never favourites for a QF.

Well, EXCEPT this time. So perhaps this is actually their first “choke”.

WORLD VIEW: ABs pluck 'astonishing win from depth of their souls' while Irish face 'four more years of choking jokes'

Very very happy South African here. Ireland were getting a little too arrogant, at least their media.

Now Sam Cane can go to Peter O’Mahoney and tell him “I might be a **** Ritchie McCaw but I can at least get a semi”.
