Watching this game and it’s hard not to think, what if?? Australia, really did stuff up a really good opportunity to do well at this world cup! Personally, I think there down-ward spiral started the day they got rid of Dave Rennie and bought in Jones. I have said it before, although the win % may not of been great, Rennie had the team playing some good rugby. The team looked like they enjoyed being coached by him. And if he had taken them into this world cup, I do think they would still be in to win. Bringing Jones in was a rushed decision, that wasn’t thought thru. Look at how England was playing under Jones when he was let go??? Boring, boring, boring. No idea what a game plan was, over coached and over Jones! Where to from here? Jones has to go, seriously. There was no sign of good things to come, or potential to unlock some amazing team. They looked average and had nothing!!! Now Argentina has beaten Wales to advance, how many of you will be saying bring back Chieka!!! Definitely has to be looked at, but is he the coach to take Australia forward? He loves coaching, no matter if it’s league or union, he loves it, he loves Australia, and he has done well with Argentina. So maybe he would be, but I don’t know. And to be honest, no one else comes to mind. But with what Jones has done to Australian rugby in his short time back, I think who ever they get, needs to be able to talk to the media, needs to build a rapport with the media and public, bring people back and make us want to watch the Wallabies again. Of course they need to be able to coach, but Australia is going to need as much support as they can get if they are too get back up to the standards of old. I hope they do.

Cheika's hilariously laconic reaction, Gatland's cheeky Eddie dig, as Argies shock Wales

Totally, I agree. I also think the selectors should of selected a team that they feel will give them the best shot at winning this year, not the next world cup. Because who knows what happens between now and then. And does Eddie seriously think he is that good, that he will still be at the helm in another 4 years? If Australian rugby wants to become big again. Then, winning gives you momentum. This is a good young team, just the wrong guy coaching them. My opinion. I wish them the best, and I hope they do well, I really do.

Exclusive: 'I back him 1000%' - RA chair endorses Eddie's 'bold, brave' Wallabies selection for RWC

RA knows this team won’t win the world cup and they know they will give Jones a pass mark if they make it out of the pool games. They have come out early to the press, so that when Australias world cup ends early, yet Jones keeps his job, they can use all this as defence to why they back him. Jones is supposed to be one of the most analytical coaches in the game. So how many teams have won the world cup without a specialised number 10 at the helm? What happens if Gordon gets injured? Do you think they will go far without a specialised 10? Jones knows this, he ain’t totally dumb. Even though is style of rugby would say otherwise. So why is he not picking another specialised 10? And Vanivalu? Seriously, nobody can tell me there is any reason he should be in the team. His form does not justify his selection, simple. I do think this is a good young team and it will become a very good team by the next world cup. But so will do many other teams. I just hope Ra doesn’t keep Jones after this world cup and brings in a coach who has vision and drive and brings an exciting and unknown element to this young, and vibrant bunch of players. Because boring and analytical, is just not going to bring out the best in young and exciting. Sorry, just my point of view.

Well, I think Eddie is definitely feeling some heat. He knows he has made some decisions that will upset players, coaches and supporters. Right or wrong, only time will tell. Once all is said and done, win or lose, Eddie will have to take whatever is coming his way. That’s his job. I don’t agree with some of his selections personally and I think he knows that he has made some selections that could very much, cost them big time. But I don’t see the Wallabies going to deep into the competition that injuries could decide games. If they were to make the final, and think they were going to make the final, Then Eddie would have picked another specialist 10, being as they can be the difference in winning and losing a game. I also think the way samu plays, he too would of been a great person to be able to call on in the dying stages of a game and he would give you a better chance of getting over the line. But that’s my opinion on that. To me, this team looks like Eddie knows they probably won’t be going to far in the comp, or make the semi or final. So lets just go hard with the young fellas, give them a taste and feel for it, and if we make it past the group stage, then bonus. If someone gets injured, then so be it. We gave them a run and we head home, talk some shit defence to keep the job and build for the next world cup with this group in mind. Let’s hope I’m wrong. Also I have to say, his tactics for this world cup, seem to be old and stale? Yet, he wants to use a new team, full of excitement and speed and play what’s in front of ya, with his old shit, England tactics. It ain’t going to work. Before the south Africa game, it was all about SA don’t run it, they kick it. We will do the same, blah blah, boring as blah! Then SA came out and ran the ball from there own twenty two scoring tries and kicking butt with the second team. Wake up Eddie, the game has moved on. It’s ball in play and running rugby. I love it. Eddie thinks he is the Messiah, but he ain’t. Other coaches don’t care about Eddie. He needs to get down of his pedestal, stop throwing toys down and packing tantrums because he gets asked a question or two that in all honesty, wouldn’t be hard to answer if you are the person who has made those decisions. They are educated, well thought out, looked at, discussed decisions, that once they are made, can affect a person or persons entire career! He knows that, he’s been doing it long enough. So when he made those decisions, he had reasons! So why can’t he share some or part of his thinking behind those very important and as I see it, very much world cup defining decisions? It’s not mind games, it’s dumbing down and it’s boring. Like his style of rugby. Smash and grab, should be kick n wait. And hope. Like how did that winger make the team, seriously??? You all talk about someone being out of form after a wicked injury and didn’t deserve his place??? A guy that has given his life to rugby in Australia, and probably had low confidence after such an injury, but has also been working behind the scenes helping your only playmaker. You say he didn’t deserve his spot? Well please explain how Vanivalu does?.? Anyone??? Jones knows, but don’t ask him. I think this team has great potential in the future to be a very good Australian side! I do, but not this world cup. Jones knows it too. He just needs to get thru the pool to keep his job. Fingers crossed for him. But the comments he made about the coach after he left and the way he is crumbling quickly, his boring game plan, to me I don’t think he will last long after the World cup anyways. Which I think would be the best for Australian rugby anyway! And who ever is lucky enough to get this young Aussie team after, will be in for a great ride I reckon. Future looks brighter that’s for sure.

'Hissy fit' or 'distraction'? How the rugby world reacted to Eddie Jones' 'tirade of abuse for the ages'

Yep, kerevi would be a big loss. Fingers crossed he makes a speedy recovery. But what’s with the doubters??? Won’t beat England, struggle against Wales and Scotland?? WTF! Seriously, have these boys not left enough out there on the park for the Aussie supporters too finally get behind them and back them?? Come on!! Rennie is creating depth and he is backing players that for some reason a lot of you have no faith in?? Hunter paisami was playing good rugby, and I’m sure is coming on in very well. Kerevi has been outstanding and there has simply been no spot for him. But give him an opportunity and some support, he will do the job and some. JC isn’t the saviour or the man to be put in as a short stop for an injury. He is playing awesome at 10, so leave him there. Copper is playing better, so he starts. This is how you build depth. Not try fix holes from injuries with an exceptional player who is on the bench in another position. You use the guys who are in the team for a reason and you back them to do the job!! And you back your team to beat anyone on anyday!!! Regardless of what injuries you may have. Be proud of the boys. I personally think they didn’t play that bad against the all blacks. They made some stupid mistakes, intercept passes, kicks out on full, lineout throws and that cost them. They were the better team for long periods of all the games, but against a team like NZ, you have to do the basics right. Or they punish you. Passes need to go to hand and be held, lineout throws have to hit the target and kicks need to find there target or put the opposition under pressure. Not just gift them the ball in open play. Anyways, time to stop with the doubting. Back your team, back the coaches, and back the players who are there for a reason, regardless of they are a star player, or are not in the starting team. They are in the squad, they are there because they got selected to represent Australia! It’s up to them to show they deserve it, and some times, when the player ahead of you is playing amazing, you need to keep grinding, training and doing what’s best for the team until an opportunity comes. When it does, you know you have done the work and deserve your spot. And we should too.
