Yet the poster before you refers to WSW supporters as the drive bys, yet suburban terrorists, thugs and pack animals is apparently defamatory …LOL

Popovic outsmarts Muscat to move into A-League favouritism

Injury’s can stop the best of teams, so that is a unknown of course, what i do like about the Giants ATM is the fact that they are really utilising the GWS Zone that is Southern NSW, 4 high drafts picks from around Canberra and Wagga this year really proves that there is plenty of talent in Southern NSW and it is being found, i doubt if the GWS academy did not exist most of these boys would not have been exposed to good quality coaching and may have been overlooked.

GWS are ready to make their mark

Victoria as per the men’s is the hub of women’s football in this country but what has happened in the last couple of years is plenty of players from other states have been drawn there, i also think that because of the initial standard that we will find plenty of girls/women joining or trying to join from O/S as the gulf in standard is not massive.

Women’s Football League on track for 2017

QLD should have a couple of teams, the game is quite strong from a girls POV in QLD, much stronger than SA or Tassie or NSW and on par or even ahead of WA.

Women’s Football League on track for 2017

A recycled Ryan Davis surprised me, originally drafted from the North Shore of Sydney to the WCE, he was delisted and had been playing WAFL footy for a number of years and now Rookie drafted by the GC Suns.

Agree to a degree, ‘whatever it takes’ is not on, not walking is though !.

Gilchrist was good enough to get away with it, 99% of us aint.

Ian Chappell did cricket a great disservice

Useless fact.

Tullamore which is further North again than Trundle on the map won the 1922 Western District Australian football premiership played at Trundle by beating Bogans Gate, Tullamore is about 50k off the Newell highway between Parkes and Dubbo.

DON’T KID YOURSELF that walking is one of those noble practices that only died out with the advent of global professionalism. WG Grace famously stayed put even when his timbers had been shivered. Between the world wars, claimed Gubby Allen, “few batsmen ever walked unless given out”.

I wouldn’t be any prouder than if he stood his ground and waited for the Umpires decision.

Thats cricket dude, the Chappells are as clean as anyone.

GWS’s 4 kids next year are different to the 4 this year IMO, 1 from Broken Hill, 2 from Albury and one from Henty all very big traditional AF areas, this year all the boys drafted by GWS were from North of Wagga, not so much traditionally strong areas, the Melbourne clubs will not put up with GWS having first dibs on these boys for long, perhaps if GWS’s zone was from north of the Murrumbidgee they may not argue as much.

Southern NSW is just a goldmine for Australian football, i was just actually researching some Northern Riverina football history and the game was played as early as 1910/11 in places like Trundle and Parkes, actually before RL was played in the same areas.

Long forgotten ‘towns’ like Bogans gate, Gunningbland, Gunning Gap combined with Parkes and Trundle that were all North West of Sydney were involved in a reasonably decent Australian football comp back in the 1920’s.

Condobolin still to this day plays in the Northern Riverina FL.

The fact farms have increased from a average of 700 hectares to 7000 has seen everyone bar the hard line farmers leave the land.

I think we need to go a bit further back for a Catholic hating Test Captain, that would have been D Bradman, that is not to say that we should chastise him for it, he was just a product of a more sectarian Australia and probably his upbringing, his ‘rivalry’ with leggie Bill O’Reilly was well known, plenty of Catholics did not like Anglicans etc.

WG Grace was the master of the draw or otherwise known as the chinese cut, actually the draw i believe was between the legs the chinese cut is just a inside edge between the legs and stumps, but could also be a draw shot, unbelievably difficult to perform i reckon.

That is precisely what i reckon and posted above.

Tennis up to quite a high standard is usually self umpired and i might add 95% of the time is pretty spot on, kids though are the worst or old guys whose eyesight is failing “””when in doubt call out !!”””when in fact the opposite is what should happen.

Have any walkers walked after the fielding team appealed for a LBW but the batsman was given not out ?, surely if you are a walker and you think you were plumb you must go !!.

Ian Chappell did cricket a great disservice

I don’t walk unless the umpire raise his finger, when he thinks i am out i go.

Chappell as the oldest brother was the most serious, competitive of the brothers, as older brothers tend to be, Grandson of the famous Australian footballer and cricketer Vic Richardson he had plenty to live up to, i don’t blame him one iota for not walking.

You can guarantee if you have ever played cricket that you have been given out when you are not out, run out incorrectly, LBW when you have nicked it on to your pads or the ball was going to miss the stumps or caught behind when you missed the ball or it clipped the pad etc etc etc.

I would never walk, unless the umpire raises his finger i am staying put, swings and round-a-bouts IMO

Pav is a champion but time marches on, he should have a last season in the full forward line just concentrating on kicking goals, no extra pressure should be put on Fife, give it to Mundy for a couple of years ( captain)

Fremantle Dockers in line for captaincy switch

I don’t think cricket has marginalised Aboriginals on purpose, i think it has been a lack of effort, but i do think that cricket is not as open, free flowing as some other sports which engage the players plenty of times during the course of a game.

Cricket for all its great skills and technique that must be learnt can be very slow if you are not the batsman or bowler, it has appealed to the sub continent culture more than anywhere else, whether that is because of the existing culture or a culture introduced by British Colonialism i don’t know.
