Even as a 1Eyed Qlder that wasn’t a try.

Were Queensland robbed with this no try call?

Yep good on em, could never remember the words anyway .. Perhaps it doesn’t represent many modern Australians that well..

But what a distraction moments before the game .. hope these two bring their A Game because they’ll cop it if they have a shocker.

Two Aussies won't sing the national anthem. Let's find out why

Why was this a penalty?

Enormous collision as Josh Addo-Carr stopped in his tracks by Eels lock

Seemed like an overaction by the referees to me sending Sivo for ten. Not that it mattered to the result. Jarome has his left knee on the ground when hit clearly indicating he’s already falling in the tackle.

Maika Sivo escapes send off for brutal hit

Thanks Mary, great read and insight to the case. Lack of education is a disgraceful argument for DeBelins lawyer to raise, and one which Im sure no leniency will be granted. Ignorance of the law (and common decency as a human being) never has and never will be an excuse in court. The argument almost implies guilt.
Guilt is key to all this, and why I feel the following part of the blog is just not right.
This case is bigger than the player. It is about our game and what we want it to stand for. It is about making it exceptionally clear that violence against women will not be tolerated and that there are certain standards of behaviour that our players need to adhere to.
To say this, surely DeBelin needs to be proven guilty of a crime first. This case in my opinion, is more about the ability to protect a brand from negative PR. The courts have a proven process of “innocence until proven guilty” used all around the globe in all but the worst communist and dictatorship sh@theaps, we should use it!

'He wasn't educated': De Belin's lawyers play the blame game

The NRL need to grow a set and help the refs tackle the issue of deliberate and persistent rule breaking tactics at a club and coach level. If a club is actively working against the spirit of the game, fine them as well as the coach. Any club practising wrestling techniques likewise. Leaving it all to the refs in the game is never going to work, as we found last year.

"The worst I've seen": Bennett slams NRL over referee leniency

I had a bloody good laugh reading that Matt, great read. Cheers

Is Tevita Pangai Jr worth one million dollars and/or a very naughty boy?

Im an Eels fan, but with a strong and passionate supporter base following the dogs it would be a crime to merge or move them. They are going through a rough patch while past decisions are still haunting them.
I believe the NRL should promote a relocation agenda based on the clubs in Sydney with the lowest member numbers. If member numbers meet an agreed number we expand not relocate. Real fans would come out of the woodwork to sign-up, and there is less perception of bias against the impacted regions of Sydney.

Are the Bulldogs or Eels set to implode, or merge?

Spot on BA Sports, couldn’t have said it better. He was correctly punished for a careless but dangerous act, case closed.

Sending Michael Jennings to the bin was the correct call

I agree Tim that the NRL needs to consistently deal with these issues or clubs will not respect the rules. Though rewarding proven cheaters? Not so keen on that. Imagine the olympics doing that? Cronulla should be stripped of the title if its deliberate cheating. That Cameron Smith is still moaning about the lost titles is proof it hurts and that it is an effective punishment and future deterrent even after the fact.

If the Sharks title isn’t stripped then the Storm must get theirs back
