@Jim

Well considering selectors picked such as poor squad for this Test the WB win was both surprising and lucky imo.

Frost, Valetini & White (when finally sent on) were WBs best.
Ikatau, Kellaway, Banks, Porecki, Neville, AAA, Slipper were all ok to good.

Predictably, the 2 worst players on feild were Foley and Paisami.
Foley’s 4 goals gave him 4 out 10 imo. I gave Paisami a 3.
Both were very error ridden as usual and great at gifting tries to opposition.
Foley’s kicking game was poor – same as usual.

And why is Foley line kicking again – do WBs want to lose?
It’s not his slownes that’s the problem it’s his short inaccurate pop guns.
They had Banks on feild – use him.
WB overall kicking game was predictably poor until White came on (but much too late).

Why was WBs best flyhalf (Lolesio) not in the run on team.
Why was Donaldson not on bench.
Why is Foley in the squad.
Why were Samu and White not in the run on team.
Why didn’t Samu ever get on field?
Why does Tupou continue to disappoint and give away stupid penalties?

Holloway is proving to be another test dud (like Leota).
And the list goes on hehehehe

ANALYSIS: Frosty the go man is 'a player every nation wants to unearth' making an Eales-like run at RWC

I disagree Mike 😊

There’s lot’s of untapped potential for additional rugby league nations on top of the “boys from Bankstown” (Lebanon) and the “boys from Leichhardt” (Italy).

2 more you beaut potential rugby league nations include………

a) a Greek national side from Melbourne. Only proviso is if there’s enough Greek’s in Melbourne who follow NRL to feild a squad.

b) a Vietnamese national team from Cabramatta. The lack of size issue could be handled by a well planned steriod program. And the NRL’s lack of serious drug testing is perfect for it 👍

And what of Brissy – totally untapped potential there??

I’ve no doubt the genius’ in leagueland can manufacture a bunch more too.
C’mon guys give me your top suggestions 😂

Never mind the blowouts: Why Australia must do more to make future World Cups better

I just thought of 2 more you beaut potential rugby league nations.

a) a Greek national side from Melbourne. Only proviso is if there’s enough Greek’s in Melbourne who follow NRL to feild a squad.

How can we improve the standard of international rugby league?

The alleged rugby league world cup has always been a running joke and “Italy” doesn’t have a rugby league competition in Italy. The “Italy” team in this world cup should rightly be re-named “the boys from Leichhardt” and the classic match would be them playing “the boys from Bankstown” ie Lebanon hehehe.

Rugby League never ceases to deliver the jokes 🙂

Only question remaining is ……can the Kangroos exceed 100-0 in this clash of the titans – Australia v “the boys from Leichhardt” 🙂

Re: the article. My proposal is that the RL World Cup Committe has only so far farmed a few Sydney suburbs for international teams to produce Lebanon, Italy, Tonga et al.

But there’s plenty more potential in other Sydney suburbs.
And what of Brissy – totally untapped territory so far ???

How can we improve the standard of international rugby league?

@SD

except Dempsey was regularly bagged by 1000s when he put in consistently poor performances for the WBs and NSW in his last 2 seasons in Aust.

Didn’t make any difference then.
And getting undeserved selection for the 2019 RWC didn’t motivate him either. He went missing there too.

I’m ready to be surprised 😂

'Lacked physicality': Rennie reveals why he was lukewarm on Dempsey as former Wallaby gets Scotland call-up

@Harry

are you proposing that it’s best for NH locks to have no mongrel, get dominated in defence, miss a high percentage of tackles, never get over the gain line in attack and surrender meekly everywhere else ??

I don’t see any Test team as needing that in any hemisphere 😂

Under the Pump: Has Gregor lost the plot? Do Wallabies lack locks in loch land? Is RTS Test standard?

@Mr Darrow

Most people call racism a human rights issue.
And you can’t separate the 2 from sport.

SA tried that during the Apartheid era and Aussie female netballers and Socceroo footballers were ignoring you again last week.

Plus.. Jones actively implemented racism during his sport coaching career.

If you want to avoid the issue don’t write any articles about evil racists 👍

Alan Jones to coach my favourite Wallaby team

@Harry

This time I agree with all you say except the tripe about R. Simmons hehehe.

Simmons was always as soft as Hanigan is now – passive in both attack and defence.
Just being a good lineout caller is nowhere near good enough for a Test lock.

Even with Philip injured Simmons doesn’t make my top 8 aussie locks.

Or are you calling for his return so he can be eaten for brekky again by all your Springbok locks 😂

Under the Pump: Has Gregor lost the plot? Do Wallabies lack locks in loch land? Is RTS Test standard?

@Oz

agree mate.
Tate should have been given a run on start against Italy – with Lolesio or Donaldson.

Test 1 against Scotland is not the time to experiment imo 🙂

ANALYSIS: Tate's pivotal moment arrives as Rennie searches for a 9-10 combo he can trust for RWC

@Tom G

I did say “his fav’s were NSW north shore private school boys and others who shared his right wing fascist views”.

So that didn’t include all NSW players and plenty of Queenslanders shared his views in those days 🙂

Alan Jones to coach my favourite Wallaby team

@Mr Darrow

Which was exactly why I only provided detail after you asked for it.
Now watch how many Roar members give my explaining post big fat likes 😂

And then can you please do us all a favour – never post another article about Jones 😂

Alan Jones to coach my favourite Wallaby team

@Jim

McD and Foley are terrible selections for Scotland imo and having seen the WB 23 I’m picking Scotland to win.

I like Tate as a halfback, and he’ll go ok against Scotland, but he’s no 3 in Aust atm and deserves it.
Foley is a proven Test dud and should never have been selected in any WB squad post 2016 imo.

This Scotland game is a must win Test imo.
If WBs lose to Scotland again in game 1 the tour could end up another disaster.

White and Lolesio are clearly the best WB 9 and 10 and should have been selected imo.
But his WB squad is littered with duds – Foley, Paisami, Hanigan. Holloway, Wright.
And our best players atm – White, Samu, Lolesio are sitting on the bench.

Scotland will win imo 😔

ANALYSIS: Tate's pivotal moment arrives as Rennie searches for a 9-10 combo he can trust for RWC

@Don

while I don’t agree with the Hanigan selection I do think he’s got more mongrel than Dempsey ever had in Aust. Ned also jumps well in lineouts.

On physicality we could give Dempsey 4 from 10 and Ned 5.
Obviously neither are good enough for a top class Test forward.

And maybe the Scots have been feeding Dempsey angry pills – he may surprise us 😂

'Lacked physicality': Rennie reveals why he was lukewarm on Dempsey as former Wallaby gets Scotland call-up

@ Mr Darrow

Well, I normally don’t waste my time with Jones but seeing you’ve asked for it …..

I started my rugby career as a teenager at Randwick when Jones was appointed WB coach.
It came out of nowhere engineered by the Sydney north shore priviate school conservative cliche and Jones never deserved it.

Bob Dwyer was far and away Australia best coach at that time and had much better credentials and experience. Jones had done no more than coach a Sydney club team.

You’ve said people say the WB team Jones inherited could have been coached by anyone. The actual line is that “the drovers dog could have coached that team”. And so Jones got lucky and rode on it’s coat tail.

After initial success it took Jones 3 more years to ruin it. He sacked the world’s best player from WB captainsy (M Ella) due to blatant racism. That’s true and I have this direct from the mouths of several WB players. Mark then retired from rugby completely at age 26 and Jones was largely responsible for it.

Jones also refused to select the other 2 Ella brothers even though most fans believed they full deserved it.

Jones (like Cheika) played favourites and his fav’s were NSW north shore private school boys and others who shared his right wing fascist views. His best coaching asset was his pre-game psych up speeches. Predictably, after a few years these became stale and the squad was riddled with internal gripes and disunity.

So Test results declined and ended in a quarter final loss at a RWC. Thankfully, that was the end of Jones and Bob Dwyer eventually got the job he’d always deserved.

Hopefully, no one will ever see the likes of Jones ever coach any sporting again.

@Nick

After seeing the WB squad selected I’m now picking Scotland to win this weekend 😔

ANALYSIS: Wallabies need three wins to be taken seriously, and everything points to a dogfight in week one

I hope Dempsey plays better for the Scots than he ever did for Australia 👍

'Lacked physicality': Rennie reveals why he was lukewarm on Dempsey as former Wallaby gets Scotland call-up

@ Mr Darrow

Sad, very sad 😔

Alan Jones to coach my favourite Wallaby team

Well this is a WB squad littered with duds.

Hanigan, Paisami, Foley, Holloway, Wright.
And WBs best half, flyhalf and no 6 are on the bench.

My heart says WBs but brain thinks Scotland will win.
And I hope Dempsey plays better for the Scots than he ever did for Australia.

WALLABIES TEAM: Rennie hails Jock's 'great story' ahead of debut, Tate starts at No.9 and Hoops picks himself

@James

who said I was blaming Dean for the timing?

He may have submitted it weeks ago but the Roar editor chose to post it at the same time as the N Bishop article on exactly the same topic.

I choose not to post articles so that non genius’ like you don’t have amo to make silly comments 😂

How to measure success for the end-of-year Wallabies tour

@Dean

no I wouldn’t try 😂

How to measure success for the end-of-year Wallabies tour

Hi Hugh
If WRs can keep the England thrashing to around 30 points they’ll have done well imo.
And the coaches need to pull captain Parry aside and tell her to start taking easy penalty kicks at goal or it will end up 50-0 😂

Wallaroos’ World Cup spring tour down under continues as they brace for English exam

Bad timing Dean

Nick Bishop already wrote a better article on this same issue 😂

How to measure success for the end-of-year Wallabies tour

Hi Nick

yes fully agree with you once again.
I’ve thought 3 out of 5 is possible on this tour.
But I won’t be surprised if it’s 1 from 5.

WBs have a looooong history of traveling poorly.
Scotland have long been their achilles heel and Wales are always difficult at home.
No chance France or Ireland at home imo.

And if WBs can’t beat Italy they deserve a no 10 ranking imo 👍

ANALYSIS: Wallabies need three wins to be taken seriously, and everything points to a dogfight in week one

@Ando

I’ve got a better idea.
Don’t recruit any NRL players.

RA can’t afford them and ….. except for a few, they’ve been poor value for $$ when signed in the past.

Instead money needs to be poured into local rugby talent at club and junior level 👍

Seven NRL players Rugby Australia should poach

@Harry

This is possibly your most dodgy set of rankings yet 😂
