I’m on your side pie on this. It was shite. So were the precedents. Two wrongs don’t make it right blah blah.
Something is wrong with elite sport. Corruption desperation win at all costs. Starting to feel more like organised crime to me
Yeah laugh.

Flem’s Verdict: Is spirit of cricket needed? It gives teams grey areas to exploit instead of accepting umpire's decision

Fancy being accused of thinking too much. What a sin.

Flem’s Verdict: Is spirit of cricket needed? It gives teams grey areas to exploit instead of accepting umpire's decision

Probably not just like being a good sport is dead. Why have captain’s? They’re just posers at the coin toss for a media opportunity. Let’s face it. These decisions are not made on the field. There is a deep state running these matters.
And Flems, mine and your opinions do not matter

Flem’s Verdict: Is spirit of cricket needed? It gives teams grey areas to exploit instead of accepting umpire's decision

It’s a reasonable proposition. He hasn’t done much has he? There’s no doubt regarding his ability. But the same applies to Neser. I’d give him the next test but if he fails bring on Neser.
You’ve gotta keep them honest.

Aussies make tough call on Lyon's Ashes campaign as opening batter drops out of squad

You reckon. Gideon Haigh wannabe is the author.

The spirit of cricket was murdered in cold blood by sunburnt thugs - and the game might never recover

Why? Explain

COMMENT: Cummins failed the moral test and tarnished these Ashes. He had the chance to be a legend and blew it

I generally agree with the author and said so at the time. Cummins should of withdrawn the appeal. My precedent comes from a Dean Jones run out in the Windies. Where he was run out walking to the pavilion thinking he had been dismissed. Check it out. Border wasn’t happy it’s in his Bio.

COMMENT: Cummins failed the moral test and tarnished these Ashes. He had the chance to be a legend and blew it

Agree. Huge loss right now. It must make setting a total much more difficult. It does give England a big look in.
They don’t wanna collapse morning day 4.
I think on morning sessions of days 2 and 3 have seen around 10 wickets fall.

Lyon likely out for series as Cricket Australia confirm 'significant' calf injury

Warne called him the godfather of Australian cricket. That’s some accolade and not inappropriate. AB was the bridge between the Chappell Marsh Lillee era and the Waugh Taylor epoch. He almost single handedly stood up for Australia against everyone.
Not great. Merely a legend.

'If I make 80, that'll be a miracle': Allan Border reveals tragic Parkinson's diagnosis

Good comments. Although Lyon deserves as much credit as Cummins.

How individual brilliance won the Edgbaston Ashes Test

I really agree with that. Hazelwood needed the run but I’d stick with Boland. Hopefully Cummins will set a more supportive field if required this time around.
Yes. Starc in Hazelwood out till 3rd test.
Further Boland was good with the bat too. That nightwatchman role he played didn’t get the kudos it deserved.

Ashes Second Test Teams: Starc pushing for recall ahead of Boland or Hazlewood, England facing dilemmas in key areas

Agree. I’m not an expert but for me the only real alternative is Harris. I thought he was doing okay, whilst not burning down the house, when dropped. Apparently been making runs in country cricket recently so he’s the one for me.

The damning statistic which shows Warner's little more than a walking wicket in England

Sure. But not with your best bet in and batting well. Root can make big scores. It was a clever funky decision but not sensible.

Flem's Verdict: One of the great wins of all time puts Aussies in box seat for Ashes as problems start mounting for England

He’s been a gun man. I remember his father in 86. He’s surpassed him. Which in those heady days is saying something. Chris didn’t look like going out till his hundred.
Great cricket family.

Tormentor in chief Broad feeling 'pretty confident' as he makes worrying forecast for Aussie batters

He’s a big miss isn’t he. Be entering prime now as Warner retires. Hope the guy finds something.

Flem’s Verdict: Openers under pressure but Aussies look too strong all-round for Ashes mission to conquer Bazball

Easy tiger he could/should of had 3 wickets. Crawley and Brooks

Boland battered after chastening day as England target golden boy with Root rampage

Bancroft is unlucky. We don’t need to revisit why. The other unlucky candidate was the kid who keeps being concussed. (Can’t think of his name and no disrespect)

Flem’s Verdict: Openers under pressure but Aussies look too strong all-round for Ashes mission to conquer Bazball

I’m a big fan of Whiteman but I sense his moment has passed. I hope I’m wrong. Still big leap to test match. Carey surpassed him.

Flem’s Verdict: Openers under pressure but Aussies look too strong all-round for Ashes mission to conquer Bazball

AFL. Pfft. Destroyed competition thanks to woke administrators and legals. I haven’t watched a game for weeks. If you tackle someone your reported. It’s ridiculous. So looking forward to more ????.

Flem’s Verdict: Openers under pressure but Aussies look too strong all-round for Ashes mission to conquer Bazball

Too true. But who are you gonna replace him with? No one is really saying pick me in domestic ranks. It is a problem in the foreseeable future.

Flem’s Verdict: Openers under pressure but Aussies look too strong all-round for Ashes mission to conquer Bazball

He’ll play

Flem’s Verdict: Openers under pressure but Aussies look too strong all-round for Ashes mission to conquer Bazball

Well said Flem. Aussie strength is definitely in the middle order and attack. The openers of both sides seem so-so so (sic) can’t find anything there. Lyon. What a king of the jungle he’s become. He’s a huge difference. Especially at the pointy end. I respect and admire the English Captain but he’s getting on. Looking fwd to Brooks taking us on but really… rotten vegetables to our fresh fruit. 4-0.

Flem’s Verdict: Openers under pressure but Aussies look too strong all-round for Ashes mission to conquer Bazball

I think Australia will smash them. The only query on the Aussies is the openers. And they’re pretty good problems to have. Considering Stokes is done, he can’t play the whole series. They’ve called a spinner out of retirement, who wasn’t a world beater to begin with. Crawley is suss with a capital S. I like Brooks and the keeper with red hair. Anderson and Co. seen it before. I’m tipping a wattle wash

Ashes Scout: Smith injury scare, England cut key bowler in final XI, Brook taunts Aussie attack

Your point is in plain sight. But think of the overall attack. If they’re 2 for 250 and another right arm seamer is coming on. You’ll be like “wish we had of picked Starc”.

Ashes clashes: The 11 key areas that'll decide battle for cricket's famous little urn - and who comes out on top

I’m sticking with Starc. Bolo, Cummins, Green and Lyon. Definitely for the first test. Starc has a point of difference otherwise it’s all the same. Right hand medium fast. Neser and Hazelwood will all get a chance over the coming weeks.
