He won’t now he’s been dropped. Clarke, Rogers, Haddin is enough experience/leadership, they’ll pick young/untried batsmen at 6 until they find one.
Bailey dropped for South Africa tour: Marsh, Pattinson, Bird recalled
Marsh and Doolan don’t fill me with much confidence at 3 but I guess Watson will be going to 6 because adding another all rounder to an already frail batting line up is Mickey (Arthur) mouse antics. Should have at least taken Bailey on tour I reckon.

Exactly right, it’s all well and good to be a party boy if your on top of your game, This goose clearly didn’t prepare properly and it showed. What a weak effort.

Thursday FC is woeful, I can’t even cringe my way through the week preview any more.
SBS need to lift their game on A-League coverage
Good read Geoff. That Harris delivery was one of the best I can remember. I think 13-0 over the three formats is on the cards.
LEMON: Looking back at the Ashes, and one crowded hour
I was laughing to myself the other night during the Big Bash, they interviewed one of the girls from the Aussie side, and the female TV presenter referred to her as a batsman! The only time Channel 10 should have used “batter” and she stuffed it up.
Clarke in third worst slump of career
Doolan is almost 29 and averages under 40 in FC. I don’t know if he’s really earnt a crack at it and he’s certainly no young whipper snapper.
Alex Doolan must debut at 6, not 3
It’s funny that 6 months ago all the talk was about “why is the English domestic comp so much better. What a difference now.

I don’t understand why this happens consistently. Every time someone gets their helmet broken the 12th man runs out 3 or 4 helmets, half the time none of them fit and he goes back for more… Surely international cricketers have more than 1 fitted helmet with them? It’s not just England by any means, i am yet to see a quick helmet change from any side.

Who is al Hasan Suneer?

I’ve thought throughout the series that the commentators have been a bit harsh on Cook’s captaincy. But this is pretty woeful stuff. Chuck on Monty with 30 to get and 4 on the rope… Turn it up.

Not one quote, or source named… Just a gossip article rehashing some News Limited pollywaffle. Will never happen; the amount of money he can earn through a top tier CA contract, T20 mercenary money, and sponsorship/advertising deals would be more than a lot of major league bench warmers anyway. There’s no way he could come in at age 27 and hit .350 even in the minors which is what he’d need to do to stand a chance. His manager is probably fishing for a pay rise; strike while the iron is hot they say… After the SA tour we’ll get a better idea of where he’s at.
David Warner considers a trial in Major League Baseball
Good luck telling him he’ll be missing the Boxing Day test in front of 100,000… Likewise i can’t imagine him being too happy missing the match where the urn gets handed over and the fireworks go off in Sydney… Let him play, if he breaks down then we deal with it.
Should Australia rest Ryan Harris?
It would be good to see a Kiwi get a test hundred against an attack that doesn’t feature Darren Sammy.

Another dead rubber score from the master of inconsequential efforts. Doesn’t do anything to plug the chasm at 3.

how many overs have they got through today Suneer? How many do they have to get through after tea?

Hmm I’m a bit of a defensive pessimist myself but it’s sure seems like over the top negative planning.
The Ashes: Second Test Day 1 morning Q&A (from 10:00am AEDT)
Have Sutherland and co got rocks in their heads resting Bollinger and Coulter-Nile from the shield? Surely they’d be better off rolling the arm over this week. They’ll end up missing the shield and not playing a test anyway, seems like same old same old from the P.Howard school of misguided cricket ideology. Glad they’re not pulling the same stunts with Hughes, Khawaja and co. Although it seems their cards are marked for a while at least.

One’s the Dally M and IRLF winger of the year and the other bloke would be flat out playing first grade? Disappointed for the young kid though.
Australia silence the ghosts of 2008
I took $9.50 for Smith to be top Aussie series runscorer… I doubt he’ll beat Rogers or Clarke but he’ll be top 3.
Ashes: Few surprises in Australian squad
When you put it like that… I’d have Johnson/Bailey over Quiney/Hastings any day.
Ashes: Few surprises in Australian squad
Astonishing form from Bailey, breaking records now. Good on him.
India vs Australia: Sixth ODI - International cricket live scores
Definitely not, Patto looks very underdone and Siddle’s been bowling fine. The young blokes time will come, no point breaking up a good thing.
