Cronk will be moved aside for Cherry by the end, unless Sheens has blinkers on. Picking Farah would suggest he might.

RLWC predictions: England to win

This looks like a different Australian team with Bailey as captain, playing with freedom and smiles all around.

India vs Australia: Second ODI - International cricket live scores, updates

I don’t believe the top 5 will change from the 5th test in England… Rogers, Warner, Watson, Clarke, Smith. Haddin won’t lose his spot before then, Harris, Siddle, Lyon in my mind are certain if fit, so I have one bat at 6 and a third seamer open. I’m undecided on both positions really, need to see the first round or two of the shield first.

My Australian XI for the first Ashes Test

Could this be the day Billy the Kid is de-throned? Remember the last World Cup?… Inglis fullback 2013.

My younger brother is good friends with one of the Wallabies, he likes all of his team mates (Kurtley and Quade included), but often tells my brother how much of a pompous d-head O’Connor is. Time for the ARU to take a stand on this; he has moments of magic interspersed with long periods of inadequacy. Coaches like Wayne Bennett know these are not the sort of players that win you big matches.

O'Connor shoots himself in the foot again

He is a Queenslander known as Kev….

McKenzie selections out of character

That sort of thing is not catered for in the laws with good reason.

An NRL conspiracy? No, just ineptitude

Makes you wonder how often this sort of thing is happening without tries being scored and never found out. I would have thought that was one of the simplest parts of reffing, nothing subjective about counting tackles. Poor effort from the refs but what can you expect? Glad to see the sharks get up.

Henry hints at Sydney NRL conspiracy

I respect his views but it does open a can of worms for other players to deny sponsor logos on the grounds of ‘personal beliefs’ no matter how obscure.

Bigotry, xenophobia damage Aussie cricket

If its true the low bludger should go to jail. No better than bashing an old woman. What sort of dogs pass for citizens these days.

Scott mate your mail is wrong for sure, he’ll be an All Black next year again unquestionably.

Has Robbo made the same mistake as Tooves and Madge?

You could put George Rose outside Jamie Lyon and he’d score tries. But Williams is in a rare patch of form!

I would love to see Blake Ferguson try boxing, looking at his performances in interviews and on television he doesnt have 1/10th of the courage required to go 10 rounds. They’ll pick some washed up 40 year old who’ll towel the kid up.

Ferguson still AWOL, considers boxing move

They are just going to back-end the third year for exorbitant amounts of money and have other big names on light years to accommodate the wrought.

Barba brings Broncos' sexy back

As has been said before; it is all well and good to push a barrow on statistical grounds of “involvement”, but it does not take into account effectiveness. Player X may hit 20 more rucks than player Y, but all 20 may be completely useless, under your system Player Y would show significantly worse involvement but may have had a much more positive effect on the game.

Coaches directions can also play a big part; who knows if Link is telling Hoops to stay out? Maybe he is performing the game plan perfectly… He is probably the smallest and fastest forward in any test he plays, maybe he is more useful around the ruck rather than in it.

Good articles lately Scott, would love to see some analysis of Genia, it seems the wolves are baying for blood.

its easy to say things like that when you’re winning

Great stuff throughout the whole series Geoff. Congratulations.

D is often pronounced as an N in Fiji, i’m sure he got a tip from a Parra official but his pronunciation is still very wrong.

This was hillarious commentary from Holding, he has quickly become one of my favourite commentators.

England vs Australia: 2013 Ashes 5th Test cricket live scores, blog - Day 1

Hi Scott i liked the article, on the premise you raise here however; do you not believe this may be the coaches instructions, rather than decision making by the player? If the coaching staff are telling him to stay out and wait for the attacking chances because of his quick footwork and smaller frame (better running and less effective cleaning out or locking in) then the analysis regarding his involvements is redundant really, his performance should be judged on how he carried out the coaches instructions.

I guess the same can be said for most analysis done by us fans and pundits however, without being at training and in the dressing room it is hard to tell how much is coach and how much is player. Enjoyed the read mate.

Wallabies video analysis: perception versus reality

The irony in you calling Quade infantile in the middle of a comment like that is staggering. What a boorish, dim-witted view on society. “Until he can man up it will continue”… That says much more about yourself than it does about a footballer.

Wallaby urges Kiwis to get over Quade

Tony Hill will be seeing a lot more of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, than he will of Australia and England in the future. I can’t remember a poorer umpiring display.

Hill raises finger to an empty field

No i honestly cannot, in baseball the pitcher will occasionally bat, but are not required to through the use of pinch hitters so only the competent ones will bat.

Maybe wingers trying to get in the ruck in Rugby? 😛

England vs Australia: 2013 Ashes 4th Test cricket live scores, blog - Day 3

It is one of the great joys of cricket, watching tail enders who would struggle to get a game in a club side as a batsman, forced to face international quality bowlers. It is very rare in international sport to have such one sided individual battles so often. When it comes off for the underdog it is beautiful in its ugliness. Let us pray today is Harris’ day.
