Maybe but it is his first season as head coach and he certainly rose to the occasion

Maclaren's contract extension is puzzling

This is leaving a lasting imprint. Maybe he has thought about the impact this will leave on Australian football as well. For example did Mooy leave a lasting imprint? Travelling from club to club etc. But Heart/City weren’t as developed as they are now so that would have had an impact on staying here. Maybe if Mooy was playing for City now, he would have stayed.

Maclaren's contract extension is puzzling

Maybe City aren’t just a club that onsells players as a lot people used to say back in the day 😱 😁 .

Maclaren's contract extension is puzzling

Yeah Macarthur look good. They are building their own training facilities as well. All this after one season. Certainly ones to watch. Puts other clubs like Victory on notice with no training grounds etc.

Maclaren's contract extension is puzzling

Yeah success in the ACL would really set the standard for Australia’s football. Could set up Kisnorbo for Socceroos coach eventually 😛 ?

As a side note it looks like Brisbane could be in for another team. Add a Gold Coast team and QLD is looking good.

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Grand final

Kisnorbo won coach of the year. City have the training facilities being set up in Casey. There isnt many gaps in the club’s operations and culturally the team seem to be enjoying playing football together.

Maclaren's contract extension is puzzling

It wouldn’t be better warming the bench or struggling for game time overseas in your peak years than banging in goals for fun in the A League and enjoying pretty similar salaries these days. Late teens or early twenties is okay to take a punt in Europe but if it didnt work out than enjoy your prime in a great country with friends and family.

Maclaren's contract extension is puzzling

Should be a great game. If City hold the press for 90 minutes with the younger squad than Sydney will have a very tough game. However Bobo and Le Fondre can show their big game experience and may only need a few chances.

The Roar's A-League expert tips and predictions: Grand final

On the Leckie signing.

“Sometimes A-League fans say ‘why are these players coming back?’ Even in my case they said ‘why is Jamie coming back?’

“But don’t you want the A-League to have high quality players and high quality Australians You can’t have it both ways.

“This signing is a massive intent not only from our club but from the league.”

Read my previous article which is the final link in the article.

Which tv will pay less for a winter comp? Paramount already signed.

Which sponsors will pay less for a winter comp?

Some fans may turn up less in winter. Some fans may turn up more.

Or maybe it was founded in summer under wrong assumptions.

Being the only league in the world with a summer pro league and masters, npl down to mini roos being played in winter for over a century has nothing to do with it.

If you look at my previous article, japan is included. 8 out of the top 73 leagues are a sunmer league. Australia is the hottest.

Have you looked at the attendances for afl games in tasmania?

Which ones?

I was comparing the NSL numbers as an example of top flight summer football. Even if NSD get a couple thousand turn out than its more than some NSL and A League games.

How fair is the A-League if Melbourne City can't host the grand final?

I don’t think this is a show piece game based on the semi finals attendance.

Come to think of it, its also a great model that shows stadiums don’t help summer soocer as since the NSL there are a number of nice new stadiums such as AAMI etc that are being used.

So there won’t be a winter NSD? This season AFL started the VFL/AFL 2 league for vic, nsw and qld so A League has to catch up.

I meant to add that the only real difference is that you can substitute geography for ethnicity and add in an afl finals model.

Previous article summed up finances from an attendance perspective. Haven’t applied the same logic to the memberships as the membership numbers weren’t released for this season.
