Actually you can make more from football than acting. As you can see the top guys on $120 Million a year or more probably make more than all of the AFL clubs put together. If the cap is $3 mil and there are 20 clubs than its $60 million spent in AFL. So Messi on $120 million a year makes 2 afl leagues worth of salaries on his own.
Sam Kerr on $500k usd a year makes more than most afl players.
So a couple hundred a season could be a great investment.

Yes. To people that dont watch rugby all codes and leagues of rugby are rugby. All leagues of rugbies have the highest number of nsw teams 😛 . A League has 5. AFL has 2.

Depends on the club. Mini roos need about $50 a season in rego fees to the football body in your state. Anything on top is what the club charges. Most clubs will charge around $200 for a season give or take. NPL clubs usually charge more.

How much is a juniors season for soccer? A couple hundred a year? Is it free for AFL? Plus with soccer you can play all over Australia regardless where you live as there are clubs everywhere. Most clubs have their own pitch they play on. Its not like the MCG where 50% of a season is at the one stadium. Plus lets have a look at number of junior afl clubs v soccer clubs in vic, nsw, qld, sa & wa? Even in vic it dwarfs afl. But what about nsw where there are almost a million football participants a year. So nsw on its own has more people playing soccer than the whole country does afl.

Please stop you are embarrasing yourself if you call that international competition. I have looked at some afl participation and they included 200k of overseas particpation. So that makes soccer a couple billion?

How many olyroos and socceroos are made up of A League players? Who is the coach of the coach of the socceroos? A ex Sydney FC coach. What about the yearly ACL Championships where the top A League teams play teams from Asia and Middle East?

There is no code war. Afl just over estimates its importance to anyone outside the 5km radius of Melbourne cbd which reflects that 50 percent of afl members are kids in aus kick and people that dont go to games.

Junior pathway for women in afl? To be capped at $20,000 a year? You can make more on a centrelink pathway for afl women. What can a female afl player achieve in a career? And why would any parent ever choose afl for their girls if it just leads to concussion, brain damage and zero career opportunities. How is that not a weakness of the game?

Nice sleight of hand, pretend its an article for everyone but you just talk up the afl as you always do in the soccer section. Is it because the world cup qualifiers are on for soccer and the olympics had soccer in them and got a higher tv turn out than afl grand finals? The matildas made it to the semis of an international tournament, I guess its the same in afl?
Also why are these articles written by rugby and afl fans and end up in the soccer section? If you like afl or rugby than enjoy the game. Why do you feel a need to compare to soccer?
And if you want to add a proper weakness for afl than why dont you compare the concussion rates and long term brain damage for the sport. Also aflw has almost no reality as an ongoing sport as in W League the players can go overseas and make money like Sam Kerr on around $500k usd a year which is more than most afl players.

Damn a 14 day quarantine makes you quit the national team a week before the game? Probably shouldnt be captain in that case. Doesnt bode well being a Melbourne City supporter.
