My son was given out LBW in a T20 last night. It was that bad the young umpire apologised to him for the decision after the game, which they lost by 5 runs. He didn’t throw his bat and have a tantrum though.

So I’m guessing playing on from the square, without the kick to self, and the ball goes out of bounds without being touched, would result in a throw in – unless deemed deliberate; same as existing rules without the kick to self?
Remind me why we still need a goal square? If the mark for a kick-in is now set 19m (??)(6.233′) from the goal line, then why not kick the square into touch and have a second arc @20m (more appeasing to the eye & less questions as to why its 19) that all players except the kicker are to be excluded from during the kick-in? Works for the round ball game.
