Slight correction:
“Roughly the same 17 are going to be there under the same coach.”

Raiders are losing Shannon Boyd, Junior Paulo and Blake Austin. Changing 3 from your top 17 takes it out of the “roughly” territory.
All 3 have caused bad defensive issues at different times of the year. Guys coming into the 17 like Emre Guler and John Bateman are much more mobile and should provide improved levels of fitness and better defense.

Nine talking points from NRL Round 25

Peter Wallace was on side maybe twice the entire game. Both sides got dud calls. The difference; the Raiders being the better team for most of the game took their opportunities with way better 5th tackle options.
Panthers just looked like they couldn’t handle the occasion.

Penrith got back into it because the Raiders started throwing the ball away. Could have been an embarrassing score otherwise.

You don’t need any contact at all with the head at all for a shoulder charge. None. He should have had some sort of charge levelled against him.

If contact with the head is all you are basing it off it’s Wighton’s head that hits Edward’s head, not the shoulder.

Both should have been charged and the fact that 1 got nothing and 1 got 4 weeks is an absolute disgrace.

On someone that doesn’t have the ball. No wrapping at all. It is the definition of a shoulder charge. No way ennis should not have gotten a charge.

I’m not arguing for no charge.
Look at the still images. He gets the arm around the ball. Not sure why you are talking about around him. Never mentioned that.

Wighton’s arm is around the ball if you look at the angle facing the tigers goal line. And the damage is done from the head clash.

Yeah it’s a fair point. Hope we turn up mentally and handle the loss of Wighton.
Santo has been in great form for mounties.

1) Raiders have been favourites plenty of times throughout the year. It is a non-issue.

2) Paulo is playing so it’s a straight swap IF Boyd is out. No issue there.

3) Not at all. Parra and Manly we were off a bit. Tigers we were on most the game. No problems.

We already had the “loss” we needed to have when we clocked off against eels and then manly. There was a lazy effort a couple of times against the tigers but we were pretty much on for most of the game.
