The second Test continues today with Australia taking on Pakistan at the MCG. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 10am (AEDT).

After a first day interrupted by rain, the match sprang to life on Day 2 with 13 wickets falling.

It was Pakistan’s first session, with Australia being bowled out for 318. Aamer Jamal was the chief destroyer, taking 3/64, including the key wickets of Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne.

Some of Australia’s batting was a little loose, but Pakistan made the most of their chances, with their catching much improved on Day 2. Mitchell Marsh was the pick of the Australians, scoring 41.

After working their way to 1/124, Pakistan arguably were in front in the Test match, but a classy Pat Cummins caught and bowled Abdullah Shafique, who top scored with 62, and gave the Australians a sniff.

Babar Azam was dismissed for 1 by a Cummins off-cutter and the match again turned Australia’s way.

Pakistan worked their way to 6/194 by stumps, with Cummins at his best, taking 3/37. Nathan Lyon chimed in with two wickets and Josh Hazlewood took the other.

Early scalps will be key for Australia this morning, as they look to take a significant lead into their second innings. For Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan is the key to a sizeable total – he was 29 not out at the end of Day 2.
