Was Mitchell Starc denied by two howlers in a row?

Mitchell Starc had to bite his shirt to stop himself from saying something he’d regret to the umpire after back-to-back not out calls in New South Wales’ clash against Queensland in the Sheffield Shield.

Starc rattled the glove of Jack Wildermuth but the umpire failed to see the deflection. It was followed by a huge shout for LBW the next ball, with Starc and the commentary team certain it was crashing into the stumps.

He finished the day with 2/71 from his 20 overs.

Trent Copeland had more luck a short time later with an LBW decision going his way to dismiss Wildermuth

It came at the end of an enthralling first day with Marnus Labuschagne out in the last over after scoring an impressive century in difficult conditions to leave the game in the balance at 7 for 274.
