Round 24 of the NRL Premiership kicks off tonight when the Brisbane Broncos host the Parramatta Eels at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:50pm (AEST)

Only two points separate the two sides, but confidence is low in the Brisbane camp. After defeating the Eels in Parramatta just over a month ago, they have lost three of their next four clashes including a 60-12 thrashing at the hands of rivals Melbourne Storm last week.

The loss of Patrick Carrigan is clearly hurting the Broncos in the forward pack, but they need to step up and just find a way to win if they want to eliminate any sort of hope of finals hopeful Canberra Raiders. In a big boost for them, Brenko Lee returns to left centre while Tyson Gamble and Keenan Palasia are named on the reserves list.

As for the Eels, they have found some momentum with big wins against their rivals Penrith Panthers and Canterbury Bulldogs following the loss to the Broncos in July.

The early return of halfback Mitchell Moses has helped coach Brad Arthur on how he wants his team to play, and big wins against rivals before the finals will do the Eels a lot of good.

The visitors remain unchanged from their victory against the Bulldogs, but Makahesi Makatoa and Jake Arthur are named in the reserves.

Prediction

The Broncos have lost a bit of their way and how they want to play since defeating the Eels earlier in the season. There have been some tough losses for Brisbane in this period, but tough times determine whether a playing squad is disoriented or united towards one goal.

The experienced campaigners in Adam Reynolds, Corey Oates and Kurt Capewell have to step up if the Broncos are to have any sort of chance. While the Eels have picked up crucial wins away from home this year, the experience of Adam Reynolds should see the Broncos find a way to win.
