Round 15 of the NRL premiership concludes this afternoon when the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs take on the Parramatta Eels at Accor Stadium in Sydney. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 4:00pm (AEST).

We are only just over the halfway mark for this season, but the loser today can start planning their end of season trip. Playing finals football will seem a long way away.

A lot was expected of Cameron Ciraldo’s team in the pre season, but a dreadful run with injuries and a number of positional switches has hurt them with just the 5 wins so far this season. They were beaten by a Luke Keary field goal against the Roosters last start.

The Bulldogs problem all season has been their inability to score points, with only the Roosters saving them from being last on the ladder in this category. They need more from the likes of Matt Burton and Reed Mahoney, but these players can’t do it alone.

Mahoney has recovered from a head knock and has been cleared to play. Jacob Kiraz returns from an elbow injury, with Blake Wilson going back to the reserves. With Ryan Sutton out, Harrison Edwards starts at lock and Chris Patolo gets a spot on the bench.

Last season’s grand finalists sit 3 points outside the 8 and need a win to keep in touch. The Eels won their last 2 before their bye so their season seemed to be on an upwards trajectory. However, the loss of Dylan Brown, with the period as yet unknown, could change all of that.

The Eels have a very strong pack led by Junior Paulo and Reagan Campbell-Gillard. From there, all being well, Clint Gutherson and Mitchell Moses can create plenty of scoring opportunities.

Campbell-Gillard does return from a groin injury in a big in for the Eels. Andrew Davey returns from concussion, pushing Matt Doorey to the bench and Luca Moretti to the reserves. Daejarn Asi will likely come in for Brown.

Prediction

Clashes between these two teams are traditionally high quality and this should be no different.

I think the Eels have a little too much firepower and I expect they will win a tight one. Eels by 6
