Round 24 of the NRL premiership concludes this afternoon when the Newcastle Knights take on the Canterbury Bulldogs at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 4pm (AEST).
The high flying Knights are on a five match winning streak, and it all started when the Knights thrashed the Bulldogs 66-0 at Sydney Olympic Park earlier in the year. With a stable spine at the helm, all is happy in the Hunter.
Enuari Tuala replaces the injured Bradman Best while Daniel Saifiti could replace his hamstrung twin if he fails to recover before kickoff.
Following a nervy one point victory over the Dolphins in Queensland, the Bulldogs travel to the Hunter after a break following a bye.
Mid-season signing Toby Sexton has given the Bulldogs some stability which has allowed Matt Burton the freedom to express himself more on the playing group. Englishman Luke Thompson replaces Harrison Edwards on the bench as he returns from injury in the only change for the Bulldogs.
The Knights are not an easy team to beat at home. Their fans have made it an extremely hard ground to topple the home side and that’s what I expect to happen. The Bulldogs will fight, but we have seen teams struggle to get back to the groove quickly after a bye. Knights by 12
