France and Morocco meet to decide which team will face Argentina in the 2022 World Cup final. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 6am (AEDT).

With Lionel Messi and his Argentinian team waiting in the wings, it is time for the defending champions and the giant-killing Moroccans to battle for a place in the final and a chance at football immortality.

The French have done as they normally do, working their way into the tournament smoothly and seemingly able to produce their best when required on the biggest of days. A comfortable group stage was followed by a cruisy win against Poland and a tougher one against the English, leaving the champions on the cusp of yet another final and the rare feat of winning two World Cup trophies in succession a real possibility.

Morocco has been the stunning intruder at Qatar 2022, with Spain and Portugal falling to them during the knockout phase and much of the world climbing aboard their bandwagon in the hope of seeing a new World Cup winner.

Sadly, the Africans have major injury concerns heading into the final and will need some luck to have their best eleven on the pitch for the biggest match in the history of Moroccan football.

Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud loom as serious threats to the Moroccan defence and the solid block offered by France throughout the tournament stands to make Morocco’s task of finding goals against one of the best teams in the world a challenging one.

It looms as an interesting match-up, with the dynamic attack of the French far too powerful for Morocco, yet the outsiders capable of the upset should they hold firm at the back and create a close contest late in the game.

Whilst the continent of Africa appears to be galvanised in support of Morocco, France will simply have too much firepower for them and potentially canter to victory in what should begin as a tight affair.

Once the emotion and nervousness is removed from the match after the opening half-hour, expect France to cut the Moroccans to pieces and advance to the World Cup final.
