Team USA have arrived down under ahead of the 2019 Basketball World Cup in China, and they will play the first of two warm-up games against the Australian Boomers at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. This is The Roar’s guide to streaming the match online, or watching it on TV.

Match 1 of the series will start at 7:30pm (AEST) on Thursday, August 22.

This two-game series will be the final tune-ups before the teams head to China, with Game 2 set down for Sunday, and the teams to fly out to China early next week ahead of the start of the World Cup next Saturday.

Both teams are understrength, with NBA players withdrawing from the tournament and therefore, these warm-up games, but there is still set to be a huge crowd at Marvel Stadium to witness some of the best players in the world.

How to watch the match on TV

Under a new TV deal with Basketball Australia and the NBL, the only way to watch this Boomers pre-World Cup match will be through SBS.

They will broadcast the game on their secondary channel, SBS Viceland. This can be found on Channel 32.

The coverage will begin at 7:30pm (AEST), with tip-off likely to be delayed by around 20 minutes from the scheduled time to allow a pre-game show, as it was against Canada in Perth last weekend.
