In an ominous warning to the world, Sally Pearson says she’s amazing herself.

The celebrated Australian track star can barely contain her excitement ahead of her next big international meet, the world indoor titles in Poland in March.

Pearson will defend her world 60 metres hurdles indoor crown brimming with confidence from a domestic campaign reaping rave results.

She’s rapt with her times in the 100m sprint – clocking 11.24 seconds and 11.27s in Canberra last weekend, and 11.35s in wind-swept Adelaide on Saturday night.

“I don’t think there’s many girls in the hurdles in the world that can run two 11.2s and an 11.3 a week apart,” Pearson told AAP.

“It means my speed is there. My training is going really well. My technique is on par – still not 100 per cent where I want it.

“But it shows me that we’re on our way and that next week my first hurdles race is going to be good.”

Pearson returns to her pet 100m hurdles event in Perth next Saturday for the first time this domestic season.

And while her sprint results have heartened, she is excelling in hurdles training.

“My (hurdles) training session on Thursday was amazing – even my biomechanist congratulated me … it’s really exciting,” she said.

Two fellow Australians have also sent warnings to their overseas competitors.

Javelin throwers Kim Mickle and Kathryn Mitchell surprised themselves at Saturday night’s Adelaide Track Classic with massive throws.

World championship silver medallist Mickle started her first competition for the year uncertain what to expect and threw 66.12m – the longest in the world this year.

And Mitchell, with her first throw, recorded 66.10m as both qualified for this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

“It’s February … there is no way we should be throwing this far now; it’s not the time to throw big,” Mickle told AAP.

“But we are because we’re together. It’s absolutely amazing.

“When Kathryn unleashed with a 66, that just fired me up … my throw wouldn’t have happened if not for Kathryn.

“We are just so lucky to have people in our country who will push each other to do our best.”
